I recently broke my huawei ascend and i have put all of my music on there and also album picture ideas and now metro pcs isnt helping back up anything so i need just a phone screen to keep the same phone. . . can anyone help :confused:
 
is there anyone that has screens for these phones? i have important info on my phone an metro pcs isnt helping retrieve it at all . . . is there anyone that can help me??
 
could anyone tell me the steps i need to do to install proxoid? im tethering with pdanet,but i want to use proxoid now,but having a heck of a time with its files. Ive got the zip files extracted and drivers updated,but now im at a standstill,not sure what to do with these files. Im running on windows vista,any help would be greatly appreciated
 
I have the Cricket Huawei Ascend and I accidentally deleted my home canvas app. Now I cant see anything at the home screen. I can still text and call using from the notification bar. I tried some other links to force update to stock it wouldnt read. Is there anyway you can help please!!
 
New to the Huawei Ascend forum and is my first smart phone. Using the Cricket service. Have been going thru the "ultimate guide" but thought I stop by here.

hi to all first i hjust wanna say this place is great alot of usefull info i am a newbie at smart phones just recently got the huawei ascend from metro ive tried to root my phone ive dowloaded z4 and ran the permanent root when my phone restarts i went to the titanium app but it says my phone isnt rooted any help would be great thank you

Is you phone 2.1 or 2.2? go to system information. if it is then go to market or the internet in your phone, to look up 4shared. (it has a app i think) but when you get there type in gingerbreak! then download v1.2. then open it and root it. (TIP: boot will be long when you first reboot the device when you root it) but it goes normal from there.
 
ginger break worked got it rooted but im not sure if im understanding how to get rid of the bloatware ive got titanium back up the free addition when i click delete an app lets say uno it says cannot find apk file

maybe you already deleted it?
 
by the way thank you for your help i kept trying z4 and i dint relize it because my phone is running the 2.2 update when i click on titanium back up and i just tried to uninsatll uno it says failed to locate the apk file and the uno app still shows up where all my other apps are

no problem :), and reboot and try again, i want see why it says that
 
it says the same thing i hit uno comes up with a propt i back it up i then hit uninstall and i get the same message failed to loacate the apk file (my whole reason for trying some of these things is because i want to put the 2.3 gingerbread

dont worry on bricking, it barley happens and titanium backup will work when you flash the new rom ;)

You need to use the newest version of Root Explorer to remove the bloatware from 2.2. Titanium Backup won't work. Don't forget to change from r/o to r/w.
 
im not sure what the r/o to r/w is i think i got it working i got the paid version of titanium app and started frezzing everything i dont use and its working so far
 
Hi to all! New to this. First smart phone. Not sure were to start. Have had this phone for abour 3 months and started noticing it got slower. What's the first thing to do that might get me started and won't void the Cricket warrenty? Any help is appreciated. I would like to eventually get it upgraded but one step at a time.
