Welcome to the new AndroidForums (Round 2)

As far as I can tell it is working right. It looks to me like what you expect. I'm confused! Can you give an example of what you are expecting to currently being seeing, but aren't?

I actually can't, no. I must've accidentally marked the forums as read without realising. So right now I can't reproduce the problem until people post some more.

Here's a question, is there any way turn off the "Trending Topics"? Which seems to me to be absolutely useless, and takes up a lot of data and space in the browser.

I'm confused. I've still got this useless "trending topics" thing which shows months and years old conversations.Things like "Samsung Galaxy S3", this phone is like 3-4 years old.

Is there a way to turn it off?

If you increase the magnification in the browser does your right column disappear and the 50 item list is moved to the bottom of what was the center column?

Narrowing the browser window will do this too. But if to hope was to have more space for messages neither achieves that.

"It would. BTW we are going to reduce that list to 15."

That's good.

I was addressing his original question and did not know if it moves the way it does for me under Internet Explorer. It would solve his space on the screen concern. When I hit the top of the list I know I am at the bottom of the screen.

I don't know what that is.

All I'm seeing is very narrow posts which means a lot of scrolling to read thing and a useless sidebar, that I can't get rid of

....Samsung Galaxy S2? as a "Trending Topic" ? I'm very confused here.

I was staff and a Guide, but now I'm just very confused.

B8. Quote

It would be great if when editing an exiting post I could enter a quote from another post. I only seem to be able to enter a quote when creating the post. The preceding post is an example of it's use.

Couple things I mentioned in the beta thread that are still outstanding so I'll post them here-
In the app there is no way to browse the forums not in your favorites, all you can do is get the list of forums available to subscribe to but you can't actually open and read them. Tapatalk lets you do this although not for all forums (i. e. device forums not available) but that's going away leaving a browser as the only way to do this.
Also in the app, downloads can't be done within the app as in the past (and again as still possible in TT) but want.to open in a browser.
These things are important if the new app is to truly become a fully functional replacement for both the old app and for Tapatalk when it's no longer available to us.

In Internet Explorer I can hold down the Ctrl key and then zoom in and out with the ceter roller on the mouse. Eventually the right column disappears and moves. I think extra space for the post is made available in the process. I can of course toggle the left column to make it disappear. Examples ...

(Inserting two thumbnails in a post is a "curious" process. I suggest giving it a try.)

Yes, that's how it behaves for me on Chrome For Windows. But if mike wants to maximise the amount of content he can see at once, zooming in might ultimately show less content on the screen than not.

Hold down CTRL and press + to increase magnification.
- will decrease
0 will reset to normal.

EDIT: wait you have a Mac. This looks like what you can do:

But making the page more narrow works also as @Hadron mentioned. :) They're still on the page, but at the bottom so you don't see them.

That sounds like the advice I often see on Chinese websites...
