Welcome to the new AndroidForums (Round 2)

It did process. I got an email receipt.

I put company named in first address box.
I put street address and suite number in second address box.

Ah ok. Ok, you're a lifetime member :) Thanks! (From NS, doesn't go in my pocket lol) You're the first!

I am really having a tough time getting used to the new format here.

There doesn't seem to be a way to mark a forum as read.

Other issues, as well, but I can't think right now.

As far as I can tell it is working right. It looks to me like what you expect. I'm confused! Can you give an example of what you are expecting to currently being seeing, but aren't?

@Xyro

Here's an example. The homepage lists no results at all.

Yes that's on our list :)

I was told that ...
http://androidforums.com/find-new/15496271/posts
... was not going to be supported. It does not recognize channels in Android Devices.

Has that changed?

This is the only page I found that has the "Mark Forums Read" option.

The goal is to make the home page function as that page does..

We cannot help diagnose this without a little bit more info, man. Are you talking about alerts at the top right of the site? Are you talking about emails? Can you maybe tell me what you're being alerted about that you shouldn't be? Examples would be very nice..

Thanks,

The formatting on mobile breaks if a user has two usergroup/OP badges:

B12 Link to Money Page

I onbserved that the phrase VIM Member in my badge is a link to ... http://androidforums.com/account/upgrades ... AKA the money page.

At first that seemed pretty odd to me ... after consideration I think it would be a good idea if every label in every badge ponted to ... http://androidforums.com/account/upgrades.

Came back to AF app, it says my token has expired. Signed back in nothing under "My Stuff". Tried to get back my favorites to no avail. This mobile app is not good point blank period, not trying to be mean but you should try again on the forum app..
The visual aspect of the app is so dry and boring.
The timeline color is washed out. The gray needs to be darker.

Welcome to AAPL Forums, Lol [emoji12]

I think Device Help is an app a user has installed on their phone, and started a thread in that channel. Similar to the "Support" app on my Honor 8.

Appreciate the answer but I'm not yet sure I understand the intent. Are they somehow creating a new "channel" from a remote device if they're the first to create a thread there? If so, it seems like that segments people out into small groups that fewer eyes would see.

If I didn't spot that thread in the main stream, I would have not known the channel existed.

I guess I don't understand this whole channel vs forum concept, maybe that's the problem.

I am have always been subscribed to the Android Apps and the Android Games forums (which now both make up the Android App & Games forum, so i see all threads in there regardless of what Channel they are in.

I think Channels works better in this aspect as a "filter." Especially when you view it from the app and are able to find the 8-10 threads relative to the particular app you want to get help with or talk about among the tens of thousands of existing topics in the broader "Android Apps & Games" forum.

Where I think it will get dicey is for apps like phone support, messaging, email, and other generic ODM bloatware useful stuff packaged out of the box that have simple, generic names.

Thanks,

I've said it like 3 times. I get alerts when someone responds to a thread in general. I also get alerts when someone posts an image. I DO NOT have these alerts checked off. They just show up. This is only since the "upgrade". I tried to check them, then uncheck them when they started. But, nope!

Just so it's clear, I answered this on page four, just seemed like it was being ignored.

I've noticed this almost every time I search for something, there are many channels with duplicate names. Just a few...

Listen, @no one,

I'm getting a ton of feedback that I'm trying to keep track of. Perhaps I'm putting people who are generally a little more polite at the top - I don't know but, I have asked here and I glanced at page four and I have yet to see an example. I am asking for an example. If you would like me to look into this for you, I need you to tell me what alert you got, for what post/thread.

If it's already there somewhere on the 30 pages between this and the first thread, I'm sorry, I will try to find a chance to go through them all again and find it, but it would seem easier to just post something for me.

egad, good find. I hadn't considered it, but I suspect channels are using the package name, so each carriers "Phone" app creates a new channel. It makes sense that is would use the package name for similarly named apps from play. Maybe for apps like phone the channel name should be manually ammended to "Samsung Phone" for clarity.

@kate Yeah, The carrier stuff will resolve soon. We've yet to migrate those and when we do it'll hopefully get fixed at that point. The duplcate built in apps .. that's something we need to figure out. Maybe we should just hide those from web view. I assume they are device specific and eveyrone with that same device would have the same channel so, in that regard, it's good. But, it's confusing otherwise.
