Root Well, lets get the ball rolling

I was looking at the DLL and it is filled with NV stuff, I'm thinking it might flash over what NV is there now.

EDIT: when you do it the way I just did, then NO you do not need the DLL
so im flashing now with JUST the firmware and we will see what happens when it's done.

I don't think that is the cause, i think flashing straight from download is, but if someone can get the real DLL, that would be great. I couldn't get it

I know :P According to what I read and just did, I dont need the DLL but its been 30 mins now and im at 0% ill have news about it tomorrow when I wake up about 5 hours. hope its not that long

5 hours 30 minutes later and nothing happened I had to unplug it. still have a working phone, but the process didn't do anything..vweird

I've noticed that when flashing with LGNPST, if the flashing process is started while the phone is in anything other than download mode than it wont complete. If I had to guess, I would say its because when the phone restarts it might switch to a different COM port or something. I'm not sure, that's just my first thought about it.

Yea it does switch com ports but I think ill try again tonight without the DLL and if it doesn't work then maybe ill try with it

K. I'm still trying to get my SPC. I called virgin back yesterday, and they wouldn't give it too me no matter how dumb I played. I'm like 90% sure they wrote me down in their system or something.

Hi guys!

I just got my first smartphone, which happens to be the Optimus Elite!

I am really new to any kind of smartphone and I chose Android from seeing what it can do from my friends' phones!

I really want to root it but I have limited knowledge of what you guys are talking about in this thread. Is there a step by step guide for rooting this phone?

We don't have root yet! It's being worked on so keep your eyes on this a thread to follow the progress. Also when we get root a new thread should be made with details
 
Not sure if this will be any help or not, but when we tried to activate my girlfriend's phone today, we got the Error 67 thing. So, I called customer support, and they talked me through a complete factory reset, including providing me with the MSL code. Not sure if it's a general code, or specific to her phone. Would it be of any help?

[edit] Just thought of trying it on my phone, and it gave me an error, so I guess it was specific to her phone. Dang it, I thought I could help out with all this! [/edit]

Yea its specific but right now apparently we have a way to find an msl
Going to test it myself tonight

Yeah I checked. The only four interactive options are browse, reset phone, get regions and save to. I'm not sure how to get the other one to pop up.
