We's gettin' a Lapdock! Date & Price

I posted this on SprintUsers forum so I thought I would share with people here:

Got my lapdock via next day delivery. I have been playing with this for the past 4 hours.

I am a web developer and let me tell you, for my need this device is PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No more typing codes or replying to long emails on my phone. Best thing about it is, LogMeIn works flawlessly so I can remote desktop to my machine to do real work anytime.

Only known issue(s) so far:
  • Netflix on browser doesn't work. Can't install silverlight.
  • The orientation of Netflix app on phone is reversed.

Other than that, these apps/hardwares work without any problems:
  • Hulu
  • Youtube HD
  • Watching HD mp4
  • Taking calls
  • Wifi
  • Thumb Drives
  • USB Mouse

I can post pics if you guys are interested. Also, please ask any questions and I will try to answer promptly.

Lastly, many commented on the design of this device and based on pictures on the web I had my doubts but let me assure, it looks much better than advertised. I will share more pics to prove.

I fixed the Netflix Orientation issue by taking the phone out of the dock and placing it on the table flat. Via the web doesn't work due to Silverlight.

I really like the dock...some of the keys are a little tight, but not bad. Have one issue that I am not sure how to fix. The touchpad also works as a left mouse click if you touch it once anywhere on the pad..problem is if you are typing a message and your palm brushes against it, it moves the cursor around. I want to shut that feature off and make only the bottom part of the pad be the double click.

Second question is battery life...if I run it with 4G - which I know is a battery hog - I only get about 2 hours of battery till it is dead. Better life without 4G I assume..but haven't tried it yet. With the 4G it is great! What kind of battery life are others getting.

That touchpad sounds like a PITA,I'm hoping for all that there is some way of customizing the touchpads functions.
I'm still awaiting the launch of the LAPDOCK 500(if it's compatible, otherwise,I'm getting the LAPDOCK 100).

BTW,SNOWCRASH,can one use a separate mouse w/the LAPDOCK?
I prefer to use a separate mouse myself,if not just for use at home, would more than likely leave the mouse @ the house, for ease of use,portability,etc...... THX!

There are two USB ports on the back of the lapdock, and you can hook up a USB mouse or a flash drive (as long as it is formatted Fat32) I have not tried it yet, but others have reported doing so. I like the size/weight of the 100...but will be interested in seeing what the 500 brings to the table.

i have used my wired hp mouse and micro sd cards inside usb adapters for movies but haven't hooked up my hdd to it yet. i am going to traveling 4 hours nonstop and cant wait to pop out my lapdock on the flight and watch some movies on the nice 10 inch screen

I just ordered the Lapdock and spare battery/tray (2 items, to get the Premier discount). I was able to have a local store order it via telephone, confirm the discount, bill to my account (they still do this for accessories, just not for phones) and it should be in Monday or Tuesday for pickup. I'm stoked--I'll let you guys know how it goes.

Wow..I didn't know that they still bill accessories to the account. I'll definitely be calling them tomorrow.

I'm just trying to figure out another accessory I can get in addition to the Lapdock. I'm thinking either

Screen Protector. :D Cheapest and most usable. But best bang for the buck discount would also be to pick up either the HD dock, extra battery charger or car dock.
