Finished TTSS and thoughely enjoyed it, takes a while to get into all the names and spy slang and some of the plot is quite vague at times but proves spy story doesnt have to be all guns and chases .

Have no idea what to read next though :/

i'm on the third book of a surprisingly good series called 'The Queens Thief' by Megan Whalen Turner. I'm totally engrossed in it, books are shorter than I would like (avg 200 pages) but I have read the first three in the past week they are so good.

Megan Whalen Turner

Just finished the last published book of this series (book 4). Really enjoyed these, can't wait for the next ones... am gonna do some research on how soon that will happen...

In other news I just notice4d that "The Gentlemen Bastards" book three has a tentative 'coming in 2012' banner on Scott Lynch's website... ABOUT TIME!!
Scott Lynch, Keyboard Jockey
Not sure what is up with the cartoon banner (this DEF aint no childrens story ;))

I'm halfway through "The Name of The Wind" by Patrick Rothfuss...first book in an ongoing series...HIGHLY recommend it to any fantasy fans out there.

OMG! That is a GREAT read. I'm absolutely dying for the third one to come out.

I've started a series called "Godspeaker"
Kind a strange but pretty interesting all the same

I'm reading "The Hunger Games". about to start part 3. and since i'm borrowing them from Amazon, itll be awhile (1 Apr) before I start the next one :(

You likey so far? Thinking of reading that after this godspeaker series i'm on

me likey much!!! i have to force myself to put it down and go to bed at night otherwise i'd read the whole thing!

i might actually switch back to my amazon account and buy the last two so i dont have to wait (using my dads amazon prime since he doesnt have a kindle or read books like i do)

I need to read the last book of Harry Potter, and so wanted to read the girl with the dragon tattoo... but not sure

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is a good one. the whole series is good. movies are too though i havent seen the American made one yet. I have the Swedish versions.

Yeah, I finished Girl with the Dragon Tattoo a while back, very cool. It starts off slow, introducing you to all the characters, but it is very cool.

I grabbed that in the market sale a few days ago for a measly 20p. :)

Done reading the Millennium Trilogy! :D And I love love all 3 books. It's one of the most well written series I've read. Great and in-depth characters development. Exceptional plot that was never lacking suspense. Only thing I had a difficult time with were some of the character names and names of places around Sweden. I simply love Stieg Larson's writing style and greatly sadden when I learnt (in the 3rd book) that he passed away right after he gave the manual scripts for the Millenium Trilogy to his editor. Which means he wasn't able to appreciate the fame that his series has generated. :(

I've read most of King as well, he's one of my favorites. It's not that I hate a lot of his endings, it's just that it seems like he doesn't know how to wrap things up sometimes. "It" comes to mind as one of my least favorite endings of his. I haven't gotten around to finishing The Dark Tower series yet. It's been so long since I've read the first ones I would have to start over from the beginning, and that's a big commitment. I'm sure I'll get to it eventually.
For me personally the ending to the Dark Tower was too lack luster and predictable. After waiting for years for the 7th book, I was a bit disappointed with how King ended a great series.

I am currently reading Ender's Game and I enjoy it so far. I'm not really a big sci fi fan as I can't imagine some of the space ships and what not as detailed as the books describe it. The reading level is quite lower than what I'm used to, lol.

I found this site that states what level most books are. I find it very surprising that LOTR is considered a level 6. I would have thought it was a level 9. Ender's Game is also a level 6.

Nice to see ya in our little readers corner of the forums Roze :) you should pop in more oftne :):p

Really thinking I need to read Dragon Tattoo series.... I keep putting it off....

Series I'm reading now might take a while, it is REALLY strange.... Godspeaker series was not what I was expecting....

I agree with all of this (but I've only read the first book thus far), but the names are tricky. And it is quite sad that he passed away before the fame.... many re-prints, movies, more movies.... Very cool writing style though.

:D

Reading Under The Dome, by of course Stephen King. 51% in according to my Fire. Tried reading the hardcover about 2 years or so ago but had to put it down for awhile and lost interest. Good so far, another of King's epic lengthy tales though.
Liked that one a lot except...wait for it...the ending wasn't that great lol. Wasn't terrible but seems like a cop out. But that book reminded me of classic King, how dark it was with the characters being so evil to each other. Let us know what you thought when you're finished.

On the Dark Tower books, I know for sure I read the first three, I have number four but I can't remember if I ever read it or not lol.

That is like me about that series

Just finished Darkness Tell Us last night, it was okay, not great, but now awful. Thinking it might be time for either A) the girl who played with fire or B) the godfather (again)....

Probably go with the one I haven't read a dozen times... but we'll see. :D

my vote is for the girl who played with fire...

i finished the first hunger games last night. starting "catching fire" now. read the first chapter last night then had to go to bed so i could get up at 4am

Yeah, that's probably the right choice.... re-reading a book over and over or reading a new one shouldn't be too much of a choice really, especially when I did quite enjoy the first.

Just got the twilight series books at a good price and cheaper than on the kindle
Wish it was cheaper on there thou but the books will be okay

Twilight Saga is a good read. i actually still need to finish Breaking Dawn. for some reason i stopped and when i saw the movie i realized i had stopped right when the movie did, but i have til Nov to read it so i have time.

i'm having issues with putting the Hunger Games trilogy down. i want to keep reading but if i did that i'd be up all night! such a good series so far!

One of my friend that read the book told me how the quality of the writing is not that great (compared to the other books I've read). So she kind of sold me off from ever reading the books. What do you think Angel? Is the book worth reading considering I've seen the movie and totally hate it. So, it just adds more distaste to the whole franchise (including the books) lol. Most books are significantly better than the movie, is it the same with this? In your opinion, is it worth to give the series a chance?

This will be my next series after Ender's Game :)
