What are you currently reading?

Finished reading this :) Got one more in the series to go! I'm currently finishing Jeffrey Archer's Only Time Will Tell. I love most of Archer's work. This one is on the slow and boring side, lol. Half way done and it's starting to get interesting. The plot evolves around the life of this poor bastard child growing up in the 1920s and the story is divided into the perspective of the different characters that interact with the child.

So...Only Time Will Tell is not a stand alone book  It's the first book to a trilogy *sigh*. I really don't like following a series after the ups and downs of following the release with Dance with Dragons in Song of Ice and Fire for 4 years.

Anybody still wanting to read the Hunger Games books, you can get them now for $3 for all three.

Oh nice!!! :D Will buy it once I get home :)

Reading the last book of Ender's Game, Shadow of the Giant. Looking at Wiki...there are 4 more books to the series...which I don't have, lol.

Now I'm onto The Wise Man's Fear by Patrick Roth fuss.

If you haven't read the name of the wind by him, I highly recommend it!

Finished Wool. Really liked it. Would definitely recommend.

About to start Triggers by Robert J Sawyer.

Finished eon and eona by Goodman, they were *good* reads.

Someone mentioned Farsider series, thinking of starting that

Finished the Shadow series of the Ender's Game sega...and you know what sucks. 8 books later, I realized that two of the main characters are African in looks >_>; One is from Greek and the other is Islamic.

Right now, I want some romance...so I'm reading Nicholas Sparks. Read Dear John yesterday and today I'm starting At First Sight.

NO. NO NO. NO NO. NO NO.

Nicholas Sparks is one of my favorite books, yet I refuse to read dear john and that other book that was a movie. His best books are by far Safehaven, the lucky one and the choice. Really didn't like the notebook, novel or movie, but safehaven is his best book. Just picked up a bend in the road

haha, I didn't think Dear John was bad...a bit slow. Just curious if all of Sparks' books are from the male's perspective?

I will keep see if I have Safehaven in my ebook collection.

I'm reading the Believe now. I didn't know that the Believer came before At First Sight...so I'm kind of reading the story backward. The first half of At first sight was boring but I didn't expect how the story turn out.

Male perspective wise, I honestly don't remember haha It usually goes back and forth. I won't read Dear John, I just won't. At first site was an excellent book! I was surprised with the story as well. I'm reading a bend in the road at the moment and so far so good. Very happy and content

Finished Darth Plagueius. Story started a bit slow but eventually told the story of Palpatine's apprenticeship under Plagueius. The author seemed to try to impress his readers with his vocabulary. Seemed a bit unnecessary but he did an excellent job of tying all the events together that lead up to the Clone Wars. Recommended for any Star Wars fan.

Just Got Stargazer By Olaf stapledon on Kindle app and Pushing Ice by Alastair Reynolds on Google Books . Will let you know what i thought later :)

Reading A Bend in the Road...I believe this will be my last Nicholas Spark book...his stories are way too similar to be much entertaining, lol.

I feel like reading the Troy series by David Gemmell, lol. His only series I haven't read.

Nick, not sure if I ever recommended him to you, but I think you'll like his Drenai Series, which is superb. He's one of the best heroic fantasy writers.

I need some new reading books too.. but not sure what I will enjoy because I don't like too many books the same if you get what I mean

I'm currently reading Airborn by Kenneth Oppel. I know it's a children's book but it was first assigned for class, but now I'm just reading it for pleasure. It really is a fantastic adventure story and I do mean to continue reading the rest of the series to it. :)

Roze roze roze :p

You did recommend him to me.... And I hate you :p LOL>

(not really) I really LOVED that series!! I wish there had been several more :(

The chronology of the series was a bit hard to follow but I read them all in order and was really sucked into the Drenai World..... I been thinking of checking out some of his other books recently......

What I'm actually reading now is the Farseer Series (thanks chaos3232, lol) i'm halfway through book two and I literally can't put it down... LOVE IT!!

I have a memory of a goldfish :P Just wanted to make sure ;) I think I recommended you David Gemmell too? :)

What a coincidence!!! lol Reading Assassin Apprentice by Robin Hobb right now. Writing style is similar to Brian Weeks'. Robin Hobb has been on my list of writers to read :)

David Gemmell is the Drenai author isn't he? (i forget) But yes, he has a ton of other books that sound pretty interesting.

Wow!! That is weird. After chaos recommended Farseer I started them almost immediately. Good solid books, I'm just past half way point in Royal Assassin. Love the series... apparently there is another series set in that world as well. Need to go to authors website to figure it out/

How far into first book are you? There are a few parts that REALLY stood out to me in that book

Yeah he is...I forgot too, lol. I remembered him for some other series that I like (Rigante, Troy and his non series)

I didn't realize that the series I was reading was Farseer. Knowing your reading style, I was going to recommend Robin Hobb to you. I guess Chaos did that already. I just started yesterday and have read 1/4 of the book :)

Gonna have to eventually check his other stuff out....

But yea, this assassin series is SO addicting. I crushed the first book...

Did 'Boy' get his loyalty tested yet?

lol, yeah, he was heartbroken as if a women tore his heart apart XD I just have to say that the introduction of Assassin Apprentice wasn't really great :/ It was dull and boring as it talked about the creating of the 6 Duchies that wasn't of my interest to me. I think Hobb should have started with Frisk coming into the keep.

It did start a little slow for me as well, I also started to hate the little back story at start of each chapter... feel like he could have just incorperated that into first few chapters better... but o well... i'm nitpicking now. Love the characters, the intrigue, the world..... can't wait to see how book 2 ends

Like I said, the beginning is quite slow but really picks up and then you really can't put down the books. The series goes Farseer Trilogy and then the Tawny Man trilogy. Inbetween there is the liveship traders that takes place in the same time frame as the first trilogy, but all different characters. Some references are made in the Tawny man, but none significant. After that is the Rain Wilds which is a super prequel or something in that manner, haven't picked that up yet, but most people stick to the regular six books and are quite happy. Glad you both enjoy it so far though!
