Download & install "ASTRO File Manager" from the Market. Open the app then find the .apk saved to your device & open/install from there.

can you do this from Gmail inside the phone or do i have to save on my computer and then move to the phone?

I tried dolphin but did not like it because I could not figure out how to make a homepage with my favorites saved. I like having 10-12 favorites one click away on my home screen like in opera.

Tried xscope.....

I got the .apk file but I have no idea how to load it.

1. I tried the gmail app to download it .. could not do it.

2. went to the web and tried gmail that way could not download it

3. added it to my card via the usb cord, which worked but cannot find a way to extract/open it.

Going to try skyfire.....

Put the .apk on your SD card and open with astro file manager and it will prompt for an install.

(i think this is what you were asking)

Just FYI, I've never installed any sort of file manager, and have installed multiple APKs on my phone (including the free xscope from the developer) simply by selecting them in the "MyFiles" browser. I did have to enable "Unknown sources" in Settings->Applications, though.

Oh, and XScope is definitely nicer than the stock browser. Take a little while ot get used to the controls, but once you do, it seems easier to navigate, I like the tab support, and some web pages have behaved better there than on the stock browser (sizing appropriately for the screen rather than tiny).

Not just "get used to." I couldn't figure them out at all at first! I don't like that it has a learning curve. I want to open my browser and USE IT, right away. Add bookmarks. Browse history. I'm back to the stock browser.

I may try Dolphin if there is no need to "get used to" any part of it.

I'm currently using xScope which has a LOT of additional features the default browser doesn't. Which browser do you guys prefer & why?

Does this browser have Roboform? You can reduce the time you spend filling out Web forms and logging onto subscription sites with RoboForm. I think Opera mini has it.

I think Dolphin is pretty easy to use. Watch this video and you'll lean a lot about it's features. YouTube - Dolphin Browser HD V2 - Faster and Packed with Features

Was it that hard? Figured out the swipe down from the tab to get the url and nav bar, and then a swipe left gave the rest of the options. The rest is from the menu button. Swiping left and right to go through tabs is nice. Wish I could do that with apps.
