What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

Yeah, that's new but it's screwy. If you have the phone in portrait mode, your picture is upside down! Landscape mode works fine.

Well - there's still Photoshop.com Mobile, free in the Market. Easy to do left-right flip.

Interesting tho. This implies that was the image all along, and they were uprighting it with a top-bottom flip (easier than a rotate).

Top-bottom+left-right = rotate. Try it with a quarter and see.

Talked to a sprint rep there freaking idiots first one didnt even know what froyo was, second one new but said he didnt think the download for 2.2 was going to be available till October Wtf??? I was asking about the pinch peek to third one who said it maybe on the official release oh well I know I'm going on and on about pinch peek It really caught my eye on the n1

Yea I downloaded it for 2.1 but couldn't get the pinch to peek to work that really blows man, I also thought that the camera menu was going to change. I hope there just going to put them in the official update *crosses fingers*

Well, that 3D Gallery in the video I think is stock Android 2.2 app.

The one in MP is a 3rd party that requires some other app.

There was an apk floating around for the 3D Gallery.. not sure it had that cool stretching preview effect.

I am disappointed it's not in this update. I liked the 3D Gallery much better, as I could also pull pictures from my Picasa account - which is owned by Google. Not sure why Picasa is getting left out of this OS as much as it is...

Here is a link to a link to 2.2 (actually think Desire) Gallery 3D ported to 2.1.

Anyone else now get "Radio Interference Resource Shortage Error" while trying to text?

I'm good.

Suggest you try aLogcat, free from Market.

Right after that message, launch it, wait for it to update, then Menu->Pause then Menu share with yourself via email, so you can scan easier.

You're looking for red error messages or any line that starts with "E/" - hope that helps.

My only beef so far is that my contact search+ is no longer working. Uninstall/reinstall properly and no dice. I need to search my contacts and their associated notes.

No reply from dev so far. Bummer.

Otherwise everything seems great!

Droid X is a benchmark queen. The software is drab, the screen is dull, is doesn't have a front facing camera and is awkward looking and cheapish feeling.

Other than the Iphone which has eliminated itself, there is no other competition. When it comes to having it all the EVO is numero uno. You can laugh all you want. Especially all the way to the bank to pay that outrageous phone bill.

The software is a non issue, I would run ADW over blah Sense, its Android that counts that they both have. The build quality is without a doubt higher on the X, and the screen has been proven to be of better quality and display colors more accurately (not to mention more of theM). You're a fanboi, and a blind one at that. Paying my phone bill isn't a problem, and sprints network (sans verizon's help) is a blip on the map compared to Verizon. However I didn't come here to argue with you about who's phone is better, drop the blinders and enjoy your product as I enjoy mine. It sounds like you're upset about your inferior processor.

hows that 4g working out in the X?

OOOOHHHHHHH wwwwaaaaiiitttttt my bad.......;)

they all have pros and cons over each other. networks are all about where you are. Where im at SATX, sprints coverage, speed and cost is 10 times better than verizon. it may be different where your at.

My phone has been heating up too. Didn't have that problem before. my battery has gone down the drain. I went from 80 percent to 67 percent in an hour and that was just while emails where coming in. I didnt even check them.

Just FYI I am running stock 2.1 from HTC and my phone has on occasion, for no apparent reason turned into an extremely hot iron. I doubt it is your upgrade. I bought the optional Sprint warranty so not too worried but yeah, it's weird. It has only happened a couple of times. No idea why.

Camera rolls 360 degrees as mentioned, but apps like Gmail, market, hancent do 270.. which is fine.

I haven't tried it, but i swear i can fry eggs on my screen. Sometimes it gets that hot!

Had the problem with the camera not working until I killed a bunch of tasks that I wasn't using.. not sure which one fixed it though.

I was one of the lucky ones to get the rogue file. I've got a couple first impressions of the update:

- the web browsing does seem a lot snappier
- facebook updates under the contact's pic is rather fugly - they could've done better
- going in and out of menus is much faster
- I did get my hotspot to run, but looking at earlier posts, that may not last
- I've also found that my task manager is finding a lot more tasks to kill. Where I had 5-6 apps killed, are now like 12-13 every time
- I notice the gallery app is pulling in more info (I never noticed my video podcasts showing up)
- I do notice some issues with the screen. When I receive text messages, it will vibrate, ring, and then the screen comes on. If I remember right, the screen used to be the first thing to come on - this may be a battery saving adjustment though... And yeah, when waking up, the buttons at the bottom do light up before the screen.
- Battery life does seem a tiny bit effected. JuiceDefender had been reporting I was getting between 1.75x and 2x performance from my battery (I could last the entire day without a charge). but now it reads 1.5x. But that may change over time.

Still need to try out the bluetooth voice dialing. I just hope this doesn't mess up downloading the official build next week - we shall see...

I can longer edit calendar entries within the entry. I used to be able to tap the entry and then menu, edit. That's not possible now. One extra step but still a pain.

Hey guys, heres a link to the videos i shot with my bro's 2.1 evo and my 2.2 evo. I don't know how to put the two videos together so i just uploaded it both to youtube. You can open up 2 browsers and view it at the same time. blah i know it aint that great but i guess it's better than something for now.

nvm i figured it out.... gotta long hold the event instead of menu

Try this and you will see why this is a pain. Setup a reminder and when it goes off, try to edit it right from that notification. This used to be an option. Why on eartu would they take that option away and replace it with share.
