What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

I am looking under Applications and mine does not offer me the option of moving any of the applications to my SD card, any suggestions?

All applications won't move to SD card. I believe developers have to develop for this feature to work. My guess is we won't be able to do this anytime soon. Lookout for updates for already installed applications that state this feature, or new apps that have this feature.

It would be cool to have a list of apps that we are able to move to SD.

One thing im noticing is my battery is a little worse, didnt think that was possible. I took it off the charger 2 hours ago and with very light web browsing, auto sync off, 4 texts, and no calls im down to 65%. that is ridiculous. It dropped 10% within the first hour before i even did anything. BTW my uptime is 20:50 and awake time is 6:27 not really sure what that means tho but i saw a few ppl mention it.

I noticed a few things:

1. Non-primary gmail accounts are not syncing in real time. This is really awkward. I have to refresh them manually.
2. Exchange for hotmail is still not working
3. Better bookmark icons
4. Better rending of photo albums for sense

My guess is they give developers the option because blindly moving all applications to the sd card might break certain functionality in some applications. In any case, if you want a list of all of your installed applications that can be moved to the sd card, install SDMove:

It does break some functionality. I have an aquarium live wallpaper that I moved to the SD card and it wont work if its on the SD card. Has to be installed on the phone.

I've noticed the same sort of thing. The widget for Voice Recorder doesn't work when the app is moved to the SD. I still think that's why they give developers the option, but they don't all make sure everything works first.

Hotmail is working beautifully for me. I didn't even have to do the manual setup this time.

Since the 2.2 update, i no longer receive SMS notifications from FB. The FB for Android app is just plain awful, so i setup my FB account online to notify me via SMS when someone responded to/posted on my wall, along with notifications of a few friends anytime they post a status update. I've tried removing my cell from my FB account and re-adding, but after sending the "f" msg to 32665 i don't receive a confirmation code to reconfigure. Anyone else ever use the FB SMS notifications?

I dont think I've seen this mentioned, it's small but it is different - when I am texting, I no longer receive an audible notification when a new text comes in - it shows up within the conversation. I've missed a few responses cuz I had gotten used to listening for the sound and didn't notice that a response was sent. I cant decide if I like this or not, but will look in notification settings to see if I can change it.

That behavior sounds non-standard. I still have sound notifications for incoming texts on my stock messaging app.

Also if your phone is set to 'disk drive'

menu>settings>connect to pc>default connection type

and your phone is plugged into your pc and try to launch an app installed on the sd card it will not function. So I set mine to 'charge only'. A little of a pain, but learned to live with it.

There's a setting somewhere (may just be Handcent) that allows you toggle audible notifications off and set just to vibrate for SMS while on a call.

yep, chomp has it too. i don't see a setting for while in call in default app. just sound or no sound. silly really. seems like a no brainer to me.

if you're in a dark room, waking the phone up now lights up the haptic buttons on bottom before screen turns on.

what is justin.tv ???

I have to do more testing when I get to a better reception place (desk at work sucks). But I was watching some SCII video on justin.tv
So appears justin.tv works, haven't tried ustream.tv yet

Just checked.
Justin.tv and Ustream.tv work fine.

Is anyone else having issues with handcent or the oem sms app? Both are having a difficult time rebuilding message databases/sending messages and have force closed multiple times. I've rebooted/battpulled and the issue persists....quite annoying. Other than that I'm pleased with the upgrade.

I'm curious if anyone else has experienced these issues?

1. When I change the screen timeout duration from the standard 1 minute to 2, 10, etc. the changes do not save. The screen keeps going off after 1 minute and when I go back into display settings it says 1 minute instead of what I set it for.

2. When I change the screen brightness to Automatic or anywhere else on the scale other than the original dim setting, it does not save. The screen keeps going back to dim after about a minute or so.

I am running Launcher Pro Plus and was wondering if this could be causing it instead of the 2.2 update.

Thoughts?

So since the new browser is supposed to be faster than 2.1 stock browser, is it faster than ddolphin hd? Does anyone reco stock 2.2 browser over dolphin?
