What changes do YOU see with Froyo 2.2?

I didn't do a factory reset but I had to uninstall Swype and log back in and it sent me the link to the download again. I re downloaded it and installed it again and it works now. I think everyone has had to uninstall and reinstall with 2.2.

I didn't know you could resize widgets neither. How do you do it? Also I am thinking maybe it's the FB app that is draining my battery. I took it off the charger from the bedroom set it on the desk went to make coffee came back and was on 95% in a couple minutes of just sitting there. I logged out and am not using the app but when I went online I wasn't logged in online anymore. I'm hoping that's whats causing my problem. What happens if you uninstall the FB app?

Oh and I used to take pics and upload to FB all the time and I would upload to FB and not the sense one. I would right a caption and it would send. Now it's different and was asking me some questions last night when I was trying to send a pic so I chose the sense one and it let me write a caption and sent right away. Does anyone know the difference? I just never used to pick sense but my pics uploaded pretty quick and it went to my FB profile so I guess that's all that matters. I just didn't know the difference.

Changes? Um, Swype no longer works and my battery time is cut in half. Other than that, it looks exactly like 2.1...just slower.

After posting that someone pointed out that it was part of the paid version of Launcher Pro that allowed that, not the 2.2 upgrade :o

I never knew that, coincidently found that feature after re installing launcher pro and entering my license key in, just after doing my upgrade to 2.2

+ 1 for knowing what features a program has!!!! lol

Yeah I had pointed it out and thought it was apart of the 2.2 upgrade. I am running Launcher Pro so that is reason I am able to resize widgets. Thanks for that and sorry if I confused anyone. More reason to get Launcher Pro.

Didn't think battery could suck any worse, boy was I wrong Omg need to fix that! There r some really cool changes, like new apps and way apps work. Like can have them auto update now. :p

i rebooted the phone (hard reset) and did not install the fb update... so im on version 1.2 and also did not install a task killer.. and the battery has been holding really strong for the past few hrs...

Okay, a really minor change I noticed when comparing some screenshots: the AM/PM next to the time is a smaller font in the status bar. They must be really trying to save space for other icons. I think they should just get rid of the Ms and the space after the time (e.g. 10:03p instead of 10:03 PM).

Also, FriendStream shows how many comments/likes, is that new?

adw laumcher has themes too!

ok ok i get it you like adw better lol. i've seen you posting all over about it. i've considered trying it too. but i'm tired of bouncing around. i noticed you mentioned somewhere that you were getting FC's on Launcher Pro a lot. I'm beginning to wonder if the ones I get are related to the OS, or widgets more than the Launcher itself.

the reason I wonder it, is that some days I get them, and I can go a week without seeing any, even when there's been no recent updates. and if you read the comments for all the launchers you see many people from them all suggesting FC's occur on all of them. and it doesn't seem to me to be that they are only device specific either. hmm, just a thought.

actually, I used launcher Pro for a long time and really liked it, but, often, installing an update caused lots of FC's..Do YOU get them since upgrading to Froyo?
I think its impossible to tell if they are widget/OS/APP related, since they occur randomly; all I know is since switching to ADW, not a single FC.
If I knew that Launcher Pro no longer FC'd in Froyo, I would probably switch back, but you are right, it is a PITA to keep going back and forth..
One thing I really like in ADW is you have the ability to resize a widget, both in height and width..I dont think you can do that in LP

I noticed a change in the HTC clock/weather widget -- when my phone senses a new location, it no longer automatically updates the weather. The time and date are there, but no weather information. When I go into the settings, "Update Automatically" is always unchecked, even if I checked it before.

Anyone else have this happen? I am running the leaked version so maybe that has something to do with it.

Edit: Coworker who did the OTA has the same issue, so it's not just .3. Glad to see a lot of testing went into this ...

It worked fine with 2.1... when I upgraded to 2.2 it started acting up.

Everytime I send a request to check for new email, either forced or scheduled, the emails on my EVO disappear. Never did this with 2.1

I called Sprint Tech Support, She looked into it, and eventually wound up calling HTC. HTC acknowledged this was an issue, and suggested using another e-mail client from the market. So I downloaded K9, set that up, and it is doing the exact same thing. This is happening on a friends phone also. I hope they get a fix out soon for this... Why did they even mess with the e-mail client, when it worked? *sigh*

Anyone else having these issues?

Not having the issue as I am also using the stock email client, but reading through this thread and others it might require you do a 'hard reset'. I personally have not had to do a hard reset, but EarlyMon has a very detailed procedure in performing the hard reset in this thread below:

I saw this video yesterday and I really can't figure out how this guy has a option to edit events in the calendar within the event. I find it to really be a bug that we don't have that option like we did before. Really getting to me and slowing me down

YouTube - ‪HTC EVO - Froyo - Android 2.2 - Calendar Bug‬‎

Does anyone else have this option when pressing menu within a event

Are you talking about at 1:03 in the video where he says, "..ok lets edit an event" and hit hits the EDIT EVENT option on the lower right of the screen popping up from the bottom next to "Add Reminder" with the little bell icon on the left?? I do NOT HAVE "Edit Event" on the lower right, I have "DELETE EVENT" with a garbage can. The ONLY way I can edit an event is on the PREVIOUS screen looking at the Name and Time of the event, if I long-press and then I'll get a popup for "Edit Event..."

AND without even ATTEMPTING to change the time as in the video, all I have to do is hit "Edit Event" and the description is changed to the SAME info as in the "Where" field as in the video!!

That being said, I use the calendar app JORTE (free in Market) and tried to replicate the above issues. JORTE does NOT SCREW UP THE DESCRIPTION during the edit process. JORTE edits, changes and syncs FINE. Plus the JORTE calendar looks much much better...among other things it shows descriptions WITHIN the 30-day full calendar view instead of just a little green dot.

I'll have to give jorte a shot but really want my edit button back. I hope HTC fixes these issues with the calendar. Why change something that worked fine before. Come on htc

I have no issue with my calendar. I am able to edit the description, change the location and change the time. Am I missing something here? I am on 2.2 which I updated OTA.

Try what you saw in the video and let us know if yours is different or if you get different results. Also check to see if you have a edit button when in a event like seen in the video.

Did you turn gchat off and go into the update section of the settings and tell your phone to stop auto updating all those apps? 2.2 basically switches all those things back to factory. Just a suggestion if you havent tried it. I am getting great battery life, was in 2.1 as well.

I tried exactly as stated in the video and he is right. However, you can recreate the description and save it again so it does not stop you from editing the information just that if you don't have the original information in the description field, you are toast. So it is a bug that definitely needs to be corrected.

And to answer your question, I do have an edit event button on the right hand top corner if you hit menu while in the event details.
