What do you do for a living?

Former small business owner (computer repair). Currently permanently disabled, taking care of my husband and my 17 year old son.

My phone is my brain, since I can't remember crap anymore. Best phone ever.

Oh no. What happened? Is it a story you can share?
Nothing exciting, I have a nasty case of Fibromyalgia/CFS. It pretty much knocked me on my ass a year and a half ago, and none of the medications that they usually use work. So, I'm adapting. I have to use a cane now, since my balance is shot, but it's not too bad. I have to sleep a lot, and rest a lot, because I get fatigued really quickly. The worst part is the memory problems... you know how sometimes you walk into a room and forget why you went in there? That's my whole day. Makes working on anything complicated a real effort. We try to laugh about it though, it's easier that way. ;)

I miss working; fixing computers was a hobby of mine that I turned into a career. I get my fix playing with my phone and my own computer now. Working on setting up a media center computer to hook into the home network at the moment, but I have to get my son's computer working again. We built him a "new" one out of parts we had laying around, and the damn thing won't POST. Grr.

Anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it. ;)

Full time Deskside support tech for IBM in Detroit by day and full time student by night. I stream Pandora most of the day and occasional surfing and I use the calendar to keep track of my class projects. I'm in graphic design, so we get several days and some times a couple weeks to work on projects and I am horrible at remembering things like dates...

Server/Network admin at a remanufacturing plant.

I listen to streaming radio on my Eris all the time: Cherry RPlayer, IHeartRadio, Slacker, and Pandora.

I also use it to discreetly text with my wife while in boring meetings.

So, my battery is pretty much shot at the end of the day.

Geologist for a clay mining and processing company in Middle Georgia. Use my phone for work emails, Google maps, and Pandora on the long trips to our other facilities. Use it all the time as a quick reference and finding places to dine in new cities. Graduated from Indiana University in 2009.

Ah. I see. I've realized the best job is managing to stay busy while at home. So no job, but still have things to do. Hopefully something you enjoy like building computers. Nothing like working at your own pace and for yourself.

I try to keep myself busy. That's one of the things I like about this forum... lots of things to read, I can help out a bit, and everyone is pretty cool. Plus I get to play with my phone, which is always fun.

Electronics Test Tech for an American defense contractor. We build toys for the military and I make sure they work before getting into the hands of our soldiers...and I love my Eris...since I rooted it.

Document Specialist. I spend my days creating, modifying, and editing Microsoft Word and WordPerfect documents and PDF files. Occasionally, I'll get to work on an Excel file or a PowerPoint document.

As yet nobody's come in and admitted to doing nothing for a living.

Gads, all Eris users work? But it's such an inexpensive phone.

:D

I deliver pizza 25hrs a week, so that is pretty much the same as doing nothing for a living...

My g/f who actually owns the Eris however works in an assisted living retirement home as a STNA. She gets to bust her ass all day, while I get to sit on mine. Then she comes home to do classwork on the way to getting her RN degree.

Once she finishes that up, I am most likely going back to school myself. Luckily I still have about 2 years to figure out what I feel like doing. Unfortunately, being 30 and still having no clue, doesn't give me much hope that another 2 years will help any.

Software engineer for a defense contractor and moonlight as a techie jack of all trades for a small start-up locally.

Hated my Eris up until I rooted it about two weeks ago and now I love it.
