How to get "Power Widgets" in the notification bar?

I'm thinking at this point that that screen is from a Galaxy S or CyanogenMod since it is included in both from what I've read. I have looked everywhere and found nothing even hinting to the ability to do this on the DX. There are tons of posts asking and requests on xda, but they are all very short and end with a few suggestions of apps that have an icon in the notifications.

Currently I'm using MySettings and QuickSettings. So far I like MySettings better, but I would rather have the toggles I the notification bar.

I also found a couple contact apps that some may be interested in.
ContactWidget (I like this one the best). It has multiple widgets with 1, 2, or 4 contacts as well as transparent, dark, or translucent backgrounds.

I love what you've done w/your notification screen. Is there a detailed tutorial out there for doing the font and color changes. You provided some links previously, but they weren't that detailed and were for 1.6 - 2.1. How did you figure out how to do it for 2.2?

I don't remember if anything didn't match up from the instructions. I know the colorChange.jar worked as expected but the manual files I don't remember. What did you have trouble finding? Maybe I can point you in the right direction.

I keep going a little further every change. At this point, I've modified 90% of the images in framework-res.apk , modded a few apps, and currently working on the xml. A soon as I get that down, I will probably start putting together some themes.

Rom/Theme = ApeX, NexTheme, 10% batt Mod, Clock Remover, Font Mod
Widgets = Clockr, Beautiful Widgets, Switch Pro, WP from Flikie (abstracts)
Dock = Skull and Bones from LPP icons, I made the other dock icons to match the new font.

That Droid font looks pretty slick with your setup.

I got as far as creating a .zip file for the system.jar inside the framework folder. I ran the listed script, but only got errors, so I emailed the OP and he said that he didn't think it would work for any phones on 2.2. It might be a pretty simple process, but it's not easy for a noob like me. I'd love to see an app that would allow you to choose the colors you want to see. If you put out a theme, I'll definitely give it a go.

Thank you so much QuickAccess is the contact widget I have been looking for, for weeks now

Sorry guys, never should have posted that pic in this thread. Thats on my Original Droid and is part of CyanogenMod 6.1. Maybe one day the X will get that ROM.
That's such a bad teaser there Benny, I think you broke a few hearts with that comment ;) lol

Since I'm a big wanderer, lol, I'm thinking that the Nexus' CyanogenMod 6.1 would also have that feature? I'm guessing that this is the feature's name: Galaxy S style power widget in notification barn. Well I guess I'm in the clear...doesn't seem that my heart is broken then ;) lol

Here you go

It's pretty simple. Set up whatever widget you want fairly close to each other (it helps having LPP and setting it to a 10x10 grid). Then add a clock widget that enables a transparent background. SimiClock is the latest and greatest but the digital clock by Maize is also a classy look. Then just resize the widget to lay over the rest of your widgets. Now they all share the same background.

I tried this, but after a while, went I went to press the widget, the screen just vibrated and did nothing. I had to go back to not having the transparent area covering other widgets.

I started out with my system deodexed and had a local copy on my computer to work with. Maybe I will get some time to create a walk through for modding as I learn the rest. P3Droid is making great progress for the non-tech android user with the Tranquility toolbox in his ROM. You can use the toolbox on other ROMs as well. I saw a few posts in this thread where it was being used on Apex.

It allows you to change the Motorola boot logo (M at boot), the boot animation, system fonts, and change to a black or white theme. The next update is going to have even more goodies from what I see on his Twitter posts and over at MyDroidWorld. I wouldn't doubt that the next release or before long you will be able to change the color of the font, clock, and everything else the colorChange.jar can change.

I'm running apex, how do I get that toolbox?

Go here and scroll to where it says
UPDATE: Updated Toolbox ver. 1.2.8 - Now has Font and boot animation Changing - Download Now
then click download. put it on your sd card and boot into clockwork recovery. scroll to install zip from sd card > choose zip from sdcard > browse to where you saved it and install. reboot when done. the website you get it from has information on how to use it.

The feature is definitely available in the Nexus ROM also. All CyanongenMod 6.1 builds have the notification power bar. So do the MIUI ROMs.
