What features do you want on the Evo 2?

if he was a liar.. he sure does have a great active imagination... to give suck interesting and detailed info...

when did this turn into the is BSOD a liar or not thread? He isnt even here to defend himself.

What features do you want on the EVO 3D? Do you dislike anything listed in the specs? I really wish they would have changed the speakers to having a front one and access to the sd card without powering off. I mean if im goingn to be watching more tv on my phone because it sweet and 3D, you would think i would like a speaker i can hear better that faces me instead of the ground.

What exactly does one do with a 3D phone? Can you watch movies in 3D? Is the screen always 3D? Can you turn it off of 3D?

I like what I read from the specs. I seen a multi tasking demo of the Snapdragon thats gonna be in the EVO 3D. Looked real nice.

Put it like this: going from the Droid 1 to Droid 2 was nothing compared to going from the EVO to the EVO 3D.

Asynchronous clocking...cool, just watched the snapdragon demo

Edit: So it was playing a 3d movie on the tv there, so i dont need a 3d tv now? just this phone and some static 3d glasses? Since it can encode/decode 3D...? I dont really understand 3D tv's and their active refresh glasses so forgive me if i have vastly missed the concept.

Was joking about remote Sprint store. I'd like to pick this phone up before my trip at the end of May. Also, I don't shop at Best Buy. I've yet to see them give any better deal than Amazon or Newegg for anything I need. Best Buy is my try before I buy store. Go in look at it and see all the different options (did this with our TV) then went home and ordered on Amazon.

That is definitely true, but is Amazon doing upgrades now? For a while, they were only doing new account purchases. If they're offering upgrades for current Sprint customers, I'm definitely going with them.

For everything else, as far as electronics are concerned, I always go to Amazon as well (since I get no tax and free shipping). I only do Best Buy for phone upgrades and/or gifts.

One thing I would have liked to see added was a stereo speaker set up on this. Its not a big thing for me but it would give such a better affect when on the kickstand and everyone is gathered around to marvel or watch something on the phone and things could be heard loud and clear for everyone.

I remember when I had my TP2 and was in the studio and the NBA playoffs were going on and everyone wanted to know the score of a game being played and I pulled out my TP2 and fired up my Slingbox and everyone stopped work for about 20mins to watch the end of the game.

It just makes for a better watching experience when you can have real nice loud and clear sound and dont need to plug it up to a bigger system.

I do hope that they keep the same glass from this Evo. I have had mine since July 3 and have yet to have even the tiniest scratch on the screen, were I've had my Ipod touch since Xmas and have at least 2-3 small visible scratches on it.

They were using a 3d TV in the demo. You need more than the glasses alone to watch something in 3d.

I wonder if you record something in 3d, will you be able to watch it back on a regular HDTV through HDMI in 2d. Will the phone be able to down convert it back to 2d?

Interesting question I'd also like to know the answer too.

Whoa whoa, i remember a day when all you needed was red blue glasses, dont tell me you need more than glasses. :)

Besides there was more than just glasses, there was the EVO 3D putting two images together and producing a 3D image on the TV screen, it was two separate images on the evo screen...

Isnt that what decoding is?

I remember those good old days to when you would go to the movies and get those super cheap glasses. Now their not even blue and red.

Personally, If would have told me when flat screens were coming out, that 3d was going make a come back I would have never believed it. I personally thought they died out for the most part and now phones with them.

One can seriously go broke trying to keep up with this ridiculously fast pace that technology is moving at. You buy something that just came out today and 18months later its almost out dated.

Hell I did everything with those glasses, read comic books, they printed them in red blue, watched tv shows, i specifically remember watching home improvement in 3d with tht red blue, now I have to buy a special tv and active refresh glasses? BS i say! Having a 3D phone isnt enough? I need a compatible 3D tv? Sounds like garbage to me.

Well in the case of the Evo, it seemed like it was showing what each cam recorded separately.

I cant say that I am big on 3d but it does do well for the showoff factor of what your phone can do.

AND SHOW OFF I WILL MUHAHAHAHAHA :D

And I would agree except that was a movie, not something recorded on the cam and he said it would encode/decode 3D...so if that doesnt mean it'll will do what a 3D tv does so I just need glasses and my good ole 55 in sony bravia LED then what the hell good is it?

Oh ill show it off, i just wont know what the hell it is im showing off with respect to the 3D, yay it filmed in 3D but we cant watch it in 3D, i have a regular tv...

Well Im far from a expert in 3d but from what I have seen with how it works and those that experts can chime in and correct me but the reason for needing a new tv is the a 3d screen or projector projects the content in layers (the reason why when you take off your glasses you see two or more of the same image) and the glasses basically bring these layers together to then give you the affect of them coming towards you.

That may be a half assed explanation but easiest way for me to explain for how I take how it works

A regular TV does not produce these layers needed.

Hope I explained it the right way.

Yeah I get that, I guess i was just hoping the EVO produced these "layers" and my reg tv would show them and i could watch, that seems more useful...guess a regular tv cant show the layers without the proper hardware no matter what produced the image.

Im not that stoked about the 3D anyhow, its just in the name, an evo2 by any other name would be as sweet!

Asynchronous clocking...cool, just watched the snapdragon demo...

Don't get people hope too high. Asynchronous cores are not coming until MSM8960, which won't be hitting the Smartphone market until early 2012 by Qualcomm's own projection.

Qualcomm Reveals Quad-core Processors for Mobile Devices

The Evo3d, by most leak spec will use the MSM8260 processor which is still dual core, but synchronous dual core like the Tegra 2, and the Samsung Exyons processor.

The main question for Evo3d and the Qualcomm snapdragon dual core processor are:

1) Is the 1.2 GHz, 20% raw clock speed difference (Tegra 2 and Exyons both run at 1GHz) enough to make up for using an older ARM architecture (Cortex A8 Snapdragon vs Cortex A9 for Tegra 2 and Exyons)

2) how dos Adreno 220 compare to Tegra 2's custom GPU and the Exyons's Mali400 GPU

3) How does battery life compare across the 3 chip. Qualcomm and Samsung both use 45nm fabrication and Tegra 2 use 40nm fabrication, which in theory give the Tegra 2 chip up to 25% power saving advantage, all other being equals.

So still a lot of questions to be answers for the spec and the processor power of the Evo3d

For those who want to keep up with the Sprint event

Now Im watching 3 lol

I'm watching 2. Some of the comments peeps are posting are hilarious. My favorite one so far:

"Hope Sprint doesn't have anymore magic tricks."....ROFLMAO.

Yeahhhh........i was just saying asynchronous clocking was cool........just watching a snapdragon video from a few pages back........but thanks.
