kindly reply Guys..... i need some more help also.....

It's basically the administrator account access on a UN*X machine that can do ANYTHING(maximal permissions).

Some apps need root level access to actually perform their tasks or be set up(e.g. setCPU, Titanium Backup, etc.), but in general if you don't have anything that needs it I wouldn't bother.

I haven't bothered to root my OV, but all of my tablets are but that's usually because it's a part of the custom firmware for the tablet. The OV is still bog standard OV firmware as I was originally holding out for the "official" gingerbread update but now I'm likely to be selling it and moving to the Triumph mostly because of the idiotically tiny onboard storage of the OV.

The other thing to consider is rooting WILL VOID YOUR WARRANTY. If you still want to root your phone, whether it be to just get ride of the bloatware(carrier installed apps)and move more apps to the sd card, or install custom ROM's and Kernels, then you will need to go to a forum that's specifically for your phone(what works on one phone might not work on another) They will know more about the solutions to most all of your problems with YOUR PHONE. If you go back to the first page(Android Forums)then scoll down to a list of phones, yours is on it.Click on it and enjoy your new found P500 friends. Hope this helped(we get freely we give freely)

If you root you can install any app to the SD card, overclock, install custom roms that run the current version of android.

One of the main reasons people root the OV is to free up storage space. ;)

I have over 110 apps and 78 system apps, and I still have free space on internal storage!

Agree with JerryScript there -i have something like 172 total apps, and 130mb left in internal storage, with nothing but root+ Harmonia rom+ titanium backup (free even!). Titanium backup let's you move any non-system app to sd, even if you couldn't normally, which is awesome.

Thanks for all of ur replies Guys..........

so rooting void warranty......... thinking not to do it...

if i root then shall i paly Nova.... and some hd games........?

Titanium backup let's you move any non-system app to sd, even if you couldn't normally, which is awesome.

How do you do that? I too use titatium backup but I have not come across that option. Is it available only in the paid version? Does it require that the SD card be partitioned like Link2SD?

so how do you root the lgp500, I need to free up the internal memory and move as much to the sd card as possible.
Where do I start?

yes rooting voids warranty, but go ahead and do it, coz u can unroot anytime u want..

For rooting, Use gingerbreak if u are on froyo, and z4root if u are on GingerBread..
After rooting install Titanium Backup and run a batch operation to move apps from internal to sd..
