hi i am just wondering what percent should the battery on the htc desire die at?.... my phone dies at around 7-8%. is this normal?,

thankyou

Yes, I think around 5-7% is about right. Some battery is needed to keep settings alive until you charge up.

I do get the warning to charge & can get a fair degree of time b4 it actually goes off...enough for an emergency call or such like...though ive a spare battery ;)

You shouldn't be letting it go that low intentionally, it's unhealthy to Li-ion cells as it kills the life duration of the battery.

is it ok to let it go down once to callibrate the batterie meter??

I wrecked my battery by letting it turn off. Although I haven't calibrated it since. You calibrate by charging up not by running down.

The charge within the battery keeps the particles inside moving. When its dead, this is not good for the battery.

Its best to top it up when required and don't let it get to the point of turning itself off.

Hi

So at what stage should we charge our batteries to prolong it's life?

Don't know about about your Desire's battery life but mine only last about 6 hours with internet usage etc tops.

Perhaps if I walk around with a vest full of batteries I'll be ok for a full day.

May get arrested though as a suicide bomber:D

Whenever you're near a charger. Depending on set up, you could easily get the day out of it

mine gives a warnning at 15% and then it dies seconds later. What should I do? Should I change the system settings (is it possible) or should I get a new battery?

Where are you getting these battery readings to single % points? I can only get that info when it is actually on charge; by tapping the deskclock.

When I go into battery level through settings - about phone, it shows a bar marked into ten portions, so only gives battery state as 90%, 50%, 20% etc.
