What's for dinner ?

My wife is out of town with the two oldest kids for their annual beach trip with the girls (with the exception of my oldest son that is). I don't mind, because I plan a list of meals which I don't usually get to make, due to no one else liking it. Last night was a dish I do make, Panang Curry, but I put the proper amount of curry paste and fish sauce, instead of the miniscule amount I do when everyone is eating it. Made me sweat, but the flavor is sooo much better.

Tomorrow night... Cedar Plank Salmon. :)

Sounds great Anti! :)
I always love to indulge (usually with trashy food) when the lady is out of town so I know what you mean. ;)
I think we'll make it out for dinner tonight. Not sure where yet.

I just had to share. This is a once a year thing for me, but it is worth the wait. If you want to try it, allrecipes.com and search for cedar Plank Salmon. It's a 5 star recipe and deserves every one. So easy too! PS it says remove the skin, but don't. It just peels off after cooking and adds another level of moistness to the fish.

Also the green beans are easy too. Cut up the bacon, pan fry till done, pour out all but 2 tbsp of grease, add a tbsp of butter, and Saute until just slightly tender, but mostly all crunchy.

Looks good, I really like the beer choice as well.:thumb:

We grilled out hamburgers & actually ate outside on the patio. There has hardly been any humidity here which is surprising for this time of year, so getting to eat outside is a treat in it self.

Last night was another shot at trying a new restaurant each week. This week was The Brixton. :)
Brixton
We had:
Thai Chicken Salad (wife was skeptical but it was quite good albeit a bit overdressed)
Scotch Eggs (my first time eating these. Good but the sauce was a little strange)
Pulled Pork Johnny Cakes (cakes were delicious and the pork was nice and smokey)
Ice Cream for dessert, Bourbon and Caramel, and Cherry Chocolate. Both quite nice.

Last night was our celebratory dinner for our anniversary. I made some Johnny cakes with scallions and a mushroom cream sauce, and a fresh veg salad with: tomatoes, tomatillos, asparagus, peas, zucchini with a roasted garlic vinaigrette.
Chocolate chip cookie ice cream sammies for dessert. :)
