Root what's the best apps2sd?

i have begun to accumulate a number of apps and am getting tired of having to download them over and over each time i switch ROM's. what's everyone's opinion on the best apps2sd to use? was reading Darktremor installation instructions and was curious, backing up entire sd card, (select all, drag and drop to pc folder?) because partitioning sd card wipes it clean, are there any important files on the sd that the phone will look for on first boot before i get a chance to restore my backup?

No all the necessary files to boot are in /system /data /cache. Flashing writes those on your internal. You can boot with nothing on your external memory. You don't need external memory technically except the evo has a miniscule internal. That said if you write dalvik to SD eventually you'll have to back up SD ext and will need that file to boot. I use dark tremor and LOVE it.

You'll need a better than stock card though. Dark tremor and other a2sd files move apps to SD and create a symlink thereby completing running apps from the SD unlike apps2sd where some part of the file is retained on your internal, Widgets and things wont work if moved to app2sd where on a2sd they run just fine via symlink.

it is better to have a class4 or higher card

I have used a class 2 16gb running sdreadahead and it has been fine...but it would be better for a higher class card
