What's the scariest movie of all time?

The ending of Rec, scariest moment I've seen on film.

It was pretty terrifying. I'd say that it wasn't AS bad as I was expecting, but it was still scary.

While I love horror movies now (have a massive collection) when I was a kid the first movie that actually gave me nightmares was "Pet Cemetery".

Back when I was in High School a drama teacher made us watch a 1929 movie called "Un Chien Andalu". It's a surreal Salvadore Dali film from the silent film era and one of the creepiest films I've ever watched.

I'm just sitting here and watching the movie IT and got to thinking, what do you guys think the scariest movies of all time is.. So lets hear em..

As a teen, I thought The Shining was the scariest movie I had ever seen.

Watching the character of Jack Torrance descend into madness is some-
thing I will always remember. And even though I did not understand all
of the plotlines at the time, Jack's son Danny exhibits ESP type abilities
that allow him to see the dead.

Even now, my spine shivers remembering certain aspects of the movie.

"HEEEEREEE'S JOHHNNIE" - Jack Torrance as he uses an axe to enter
the bathroom and murder his wife.

For me it has to be An American Werewolf in London (1981), I remember watching it on VHS when I was a kid. Having to walk home from my girlfriends in the dark through the lanes. A cow in a field coughed, boy that kid could run.

Not bringing anything original here but Salem's Lot was the one that did me in as a kid. The vampire floating outside kid's window and scratching the glass.... thinking about it still kinda knots up my stomach.

Candyman had me scared of bathroom mirrors for years (yes, years) and the music at the opening credits replaying in my head kept me awake many a night.
