What's the weather like where you are?

Starting out to be a nice day

Here is a link to my station.

I had a weather station, but it was initially damaged by a hailstorm and finally taken out by a pretty strong N'or Easter a few years ago. I've often thought about getting another one. Yours looks interesting @olbriar. I see there is also a spot on the weather underground for an associated webcam. Would that work with security cameras?

I honestly don't know about the camera. Thinking out loud, the station connects WiFi for data transfer. If the security cameras are also on your network (duh) there may be means to marry them together. As designed, a camera is attached to the station and then transfers all data to your in house display and to Wunderground if you care to make your station public. A bit of google would likely have your answer.

My yard is a typical old school block housing tract and a camera would prove pretty boring. None of my friends have installed a camera either for that matter. It was never a consideration here so I've done zero R&D. If I had a security system in place, and if there was a way to combine multiple exterior cameras to my station, I'd be all over it.

Is Edmund Scientific still a thing?
That's the one I had in the 1960s.
Yeah, but they are just Scientifics now ... I guess Edmund has left the building. ;)

I have cameras pointed at my front door/porch, driveway and back door, just so I can see what the thieves are taking, so i can stop and pick up the replacement on my way home. But I do have a couple of older low res cameras that I could point at my yard. If the dog crap is wet, then it's raining (or another dog just peed on it).

This message just appeared on my screen:thumbsdowndroid:
fortunately though I will in the Sacramento California area by the time this storm rolls in:thumbsupdroid:
Praise the Lord and may he watch over anyone unfortunately enough to be caught in it

i love this weather here in LA. it is wet and rainy. right now there really is no breeze....so there is no wind chill. it is the perfect weather to smoke a nice, but cheap cigar and drink my favorite bourbon, Bib and Tucker. it is just super nice to only listen to the rain and tune out all the noise about the pandemic....right now i'm very relaxed.

@joe71 probably be 80° before the afternoon. That's why I like deserts. The weather changes just like Boston. Don't like the weather? Just wait a minute.

Almost forgot: Boston is at 40° F and drizzly. Spring-like once again.

man we have not had weather like this in LA for a while. it is storm system after storm system. been like this all week. it should continue thru the weekend. i love the rain. i just hate driving in it.

Just remember, we need every precious drop!

Turning a desert into a megalopolis is nice and everything, and as I've said a million times, I'll never again leave LA, but damn!, it sure does need water.
