I think I'd rather have 30 degrees and bright & sunny than 50 degrees and fog/mist/clouds/gloom.

30 degrees is what I have now but this is supposed to be winter. About 20 minutes of snow last night, but now at 30 degrees it feels like spring. I'm watching for the trees to bud again here. Poor trees.

Interesting question. I would say it's an indicator of weather, rather than being weather itself, if weather is solely related to atmospheric phenomena.

For me "the weather" is a combination of conditions. Temperature, precipitation, humidity, cloud cover. All effect the "feels like" perception when I walk out the door. But hey that's just a doofus in the Midwest's opinion.

I totally agree with you on this.

temps have been 49-54 all day long, 49* right now at 7 PM and won't be doing much lower thru the night.
the sun never made it thru the cloud cover all day long. I am depressed as all git out...
the daughter and I turned on all the lights in the house to offset that depression effect.
