What's the weather like where you are?

I still remember being stationed for three years in Bahrain. Our last year there, 1999, there were five straight weeks when the temperature was at least 135 in the shade with 95% humidity. I vowed I would never again complain about it being too hot outside... but WOW it's awfully warm!
 
Today is starting out to be a wonderful day weather wise. Temperature was in the high sixties when I got up and is now only seventy two degrees. There is a very slight breeze blowing from the SSE and there is a full sky of blue. The high today is predicted to be in the mid eighties with just a trace of wind. Rain is a genuine possibility for most of Saturday and into Sunday. Rain would be welcomed for it is getting pretty dry here.
 
Windy and really welcomed from the dry heat we had currently, just a delight.
 
Today started out very cool for July. It was 66° when I got up and the street was wet. It didn't rain enough to measure but when I went riding later I found spots that water had pooled South of town. Late afternoon, with the sun shining, I actually had a rainfall of .09" It was a downpour that didn't last long and didn't show on the radar. There is a slight chance of rain off and on all through Sunday with a high of only 80°.
 
Another day with a damp street but no measurable rain. It is cool again and still in the sixties. I think my chances of rain are over for today. It is starting to get pretty dry here. As much as rain creates a mowing hassle it also waters the non irrigated yards. Another week or two with high temps and no rain will shut down a lot of my little lawns.
 
It's hot and humid here. It's 82° at eight AM with 66% humidity. It's been miserable for the past few days. There were little rain showers early Sunday but none close. It was just enough to insure the humidity stayed high. Triple digits in the forecast for the rest of the week. The grass and trees are stressed out and looking poorly. With August still to come, without some substantial rains, this region will turn brown.
 
The morning temperature is surprisingly ten degrees cooler than it's been this last few days. I see .01" rain was logged by my weather station. It looks dry out and the current radar shows zero clouds for many miles. I'm not complaining about the temp, it is welcomed. Triple digit high is still in my weather app's forecast.
 
The weather has been quite pleasant, especially for August, the past week. We had a few days that the highs were in the seventies and mid eighties for highs on the warmer days. It is very untypical August weather in Kansas. Triple digit highs with hot dry South winds are what most Augusts are like. It's been a very welcomed change and though it is to warm up some in the coming days, it is still much cooler than normal. If we could get some significant rain, it would be perfect weather. We are very short on rainfall and local yard watering is restricted use only.
 
I should have complained about the lack of rain a month ago instead of last night. It rained 1.30 inches early this morning. It's not nearly enough but will certainly help. Naturally, it fell on the one day a week I get to water my yard. :)
 
We had a big rain after midnight last night. It was quite a storm with lots of lightening and there was some winds. A big tree in the next block South came down and crushed a car. There were a lot of little branches down here and there and a few larger branches. The neighbor directly across the street had a large branch down on the back of his house. One of the main North South highways had five or six power poles snapped off. We didn't need the wind and its damage but the storm dropped 2.27" of much needed rain.
 
A small weather cell passed through this morning that dropped .28" rain locally. Though my area is very short on rainfall this year, I don't need four inches of rain in a week. The grass growth is unreal! And now it's too wet to mow. Feast or famine :)
 
My seemingly daily isolated thunderstorm is passing through. It is a couple of hours later than normal. .08" and raining. 78.6° with a NNW wind at 19.7mph.

The majority of the weather cell has passed. It wasn't a huge rain but dropped enough to make a difference.... .48" added: it stalled and rained another .24"
We desperately needed this rain!

I've not be out of the house since the weather came through. I can see zero wind damage and the highest gust recorded on my station was only 51mph. The local air force base is only a few miles North of my location and they are having their annual air show this weekend. I understand that today's air show has been canceled and some of the planes on exhibition suffered damage due to the wind. My wife showed me a pic of one plane that's now upside down. I suspect the planes weren't tied down and being as they are designed to fly they took flight when the wind came through. I hate seeing vintage and restored planes damaged.
 
I checked yesterday and southern Tennessee will be really hot this week
