What's your favorite MLB team?

I hate this Giants bullpen. Out of no where they are unable to "hold" nor "save" and I have no clue how they are self-destructing so fast from being so dominant just a month ago.

Tell me about it. I still think we'll make the playoffs, but not the WS if they keep playing this inconsistently. This team can't keep trying to win one run games on pitching dominance alone. The bats need to come alive and they have at times, but I understand your frustration.

Mo blew a save last night vs the Mets. It made me sad. I know that it happens extremely rarely but when it does, it makes me wanna cry lol.

I think the Reds are done this year unless Walt makes some changes. This team just does not have the spark that last years had.Thank God for fantasy baseball.

I swear the one team the Giants can NEVER beat are always the Pads.. season after season, they own us.

OK I know you all are going to laugh at me, but I will now admit the Pirates are for real - no fluke in my books.

At least you knew we'd laugh at you for saying such silly things.
BTW, McCutchen = All Star snub:D

Uh oh. Lester hits the DL.. and with Lackey scuffling, the BoSox pitching is going to be a thin spot for them. Maybe the Giants can trade them Jonathan Sanchez:D

Runner at 3rd and 1 out, and the Giants can't get him in. This offense is so pathetic. Onto the 13th we go!

Giants now lead the majors in walk offs :)

Nate Schierholtz with a walk off homer in the 14th! :D

I wouldn't say McCutchen was a ASG snub. He has played relatively well but there's plenty of other NL OF's that have played that much better, easily. I'm thinking Kemp for NL MVP this year actually (if he can keep it up, that is).

The Giants haven't been much of an offensive onslaught squad since the Bonds/Williams - Bonds/Kent days so I thought by now you'd be used to it. Pitching is their strong point and will be for quite some time to come.

As for the Red Sux, they are hurting right now in the rotation but we still have quite a bit of baseball to play and the last time I talked shit about them, we ended up losing 4 straight in the playoffs to them. Didn't help me none that I was at all 4 of those home games. /cry

IMO, McCutchen > Beltran but its close.

I am used to it - doesn't mean I can't whine and complain still:). I mean heck, who LIKES torture (which is what Giants baseball is)?!

It's about time. I passed out and missed it, think the game finished after 11PM.
Haha yeah it ended pretty late. After having runners in scoring position two innings in a row with less than 2 outs, and not plating them; I nearly ripped out all the hair on my head. Even Nate's HR was BARELY there lol.. a moon shot that JUST made it over the wall.

The ASG is a popularity contest more than anything. Jeter is starting at SS. There is no way you can argue that Jeter is the best SS in the AL right now. You can't even make that argument. Yet he's starting.

Many of the positions are definitely popularity contests. If there's anyone in the AL who got snubbed, it's CC - and I'm not saying that because I'm a die hard Yankees fan. He's been amazing overall through the first half of the season and still missed the vote in. I guess Ron Washington selecting the pitchers would make sense why he would choose CJ Wilson over CC which is downright stupid in reality.

Agreed. Always has been, always will be (as long as they base it on fan votes). BoSox and Yanks players, sometimes which aren't deserving, will be picked every year no matter what.

Reyes to the DL. Perfect timing, as the Mets come into town tonight for a 3 game series :D

Up until the last two seasons, Jeter hasn't deserved to be selected as any kind of All-Star (reserve or starting). Otherwise, the picks have been fair.

Lol you can't really speak when you're a Yankees fan. As someone that is not involved, there have been plenty of Sox/Yanks year after year that have been voted on due to sheer popularity, not talent

Anyone who believes that the ASG is nothing more than a popularity contest is a FOOL. As long as the fans pick the players that is what the game will always be. However Jeter and A-Rod have withdrawn and will not be playing.
If you look back at the previous games the rosters have always been loaded with the fans favorites, i.e. Cal Ripken Jr, Ken Griffey Jr, Barry Bonds, Mark McGwire and others who are fading. It is a nostalgia thing for fans. When you consider the price of the tickets for the game this is not unexpected behaviour. The platform for voting players to the ASG should have been changed many years ago in the name of fairness, but there is nothing fair about a popularity contest. Now a quick word about Ron Washington snubbing CC. It seems to me that the man obviously is not interested in winning the game. CJ Wilson could not carry CCs' bag on his best damn day!

I'm a baseball fanatic in general. Just because my loyalty lies with the Yankees means nothing. I'll admit that there is a better player elsewhere if there is one. Neither team even has a mass amount of players going to the ASG this year. Cano and Granderson both definitely deserve to be there. Jeter, A-Rod and Mo are sitting out which gave way to some other deserving players.

As I said, after the 2009 season - there have been plenty of reasons why Jeter should not have made the ASG.
