What's your favorite MLB team?

Put a fork in em. Another injury, but this time to the starting rotation. I really don't see us pulling off a 4-game streak vs Detroit just to face Verlander again in G7. Our bats look pathetic are feeble at best, and it shows. Maybe next year boys when we've got a 110% healthy roster :)

At least your team didn't flop the entire season of August and lose it on the last day of the season. Oh well, there's always next year.

Giants are playing their hearts out. I'm really hoping they can scratch out a win tonight. I think a Giants/Tigers WS would be pretty legit.

Agreed, first off I'm rooting for giants cause they beat my team.
Secondly, **** the cardinals! Lol

Like to see Tigers win it all

I don't care who wins, but if I had to pick between the two - I'd say Giants b/c Posey is a beast and I want to see him rack up some rings.

Giants put the screws to Verlander yesterday. I was surprised as hell to witness it. In any event, they play too well at home to go down like chumps (like my beloved Yankees did).

Giants deserved being the WS champs. And good ridence to Mark McGuire as batting coach for the Cardinals. He was trying to make all the batters home run hitters!

Anyone got thoughts on the big Marlins-Jays trade? Seems blatantly unfair for the Marlins to give Buehrle and Reyes backloaded contracts and then dump them on other teams so that they barely paid the players at all.

My thoughts are.. it's a crock of s**t! I cannot for the life of me comprehend how Selig could let something like this happen. As for Loria, that guy is lower than dirt. I'm surprised he hasn't been found dead somewhere in Miami. Ultimately, I feel terrible for the fans that bought into his ploy to build a championship-caliber team.

I know the Marlins have a history of dumping salary so there is that, but how is this different than what the Sox did? It's not like the Marlins didn't get young talent back. I do think the fans are holding out for a "good" owner there though and its possible that no matter what they do the fans won't show up until Luria is gone.

but how is this different than what the Sox did?

You should already know how I feel about that :p

As for the "young talent" they received in return, Yunel Escobar is a terrible SS. He's never adjusted to playing in the AL after being traded from Atlanta. It's one thing to be a poor hitter, but his defensive sabermetrics have slipped a bit too.

Too bad the Dodgers don't need the Yankees bad contract too:rofl:

It's different because just a year ago, the Marlins conned the taxpayers of Miami into buying them a new stadium by pretending that they would be serious about improving the club.
