What's your notification sound?

I get the joy of hearing the classic Zelda "You Found An Item!" jingle whenever I get an email/text.

How about you?

I'm using Vesper's "notification" tones from Casino Royal. I believe its a standard S-E tone, if I recall. I really like it because I can be in meetings, and if I forget to go silent, its still classy and unobtrusive.

My favorite is a ringtone I downloaded from the Tractor Supply website, of all places. They briefly had an interactive marketing site several years ago, with 5 different downloadable tones from characters on the site. I've only got one left...the one that was the most memorable.

It starts with a digital beep sort of ring, followed by an old man's voice saying "Your fancy technological communication device is ringing". I still crack up when i hear it, but my DH has been over it for some time. Heh...

The "Doink Doink" sound from Law & Order.

You mean "dun dun"?

gmail work - "you've got mail"
gmail home - THX sound
gmail personal - intel jingle
generic text message - Old spice whistle <-----that one everyone loves

There are several apps that have tons of Anchorman quotes. My friend and I are big fans of the movie (how can you not be). And so I'm gonna load up a spare sd card with sound bites and give it to him. He'll love it.

Default - "Droid"
SMS - robot sound then "you've received a text message"
Google voice - yoda saying "message from the dark side"
Google talk - "excuse me boss, you got a text message"
email - "You've got mail" from aol

Just curious... Why would anyone willingly choose to ever hear that THX sound? I thought that was as universally hated as Carrot Top. :p

I generally have my phone on silent, but I used to have a sound bite of Lt. Worf saying "Captain, incoming message." for my text alert.

Pardon my noob question...how do you customize your notification sound?? I'd love to get the time circuit sound from bttf and "you've got mail."

Find any sound you want and download it.

Then get RingDroid from the market and use it to edit your sound clip and save it as a ringtone, notification sound, or alarm

Also I got a couple of mine from the Zedge app, there are some cool ones on there!

There was a post somewhere on this forum that explains the best way to organize your sounds and such.
What you do is create a folder named "media" on your sdcard if it isn't already there, then you create a folder within it called "audio", then within that folder you create three other folders, "alarms", "notifications" and "ringtones". If you do that, you'll find anything you've loaded into these folders in the default selection menus in the phones settings.
