What's your notification sound?

mine is the victory them from final fantasy, specifically the one from Advent Children. I've been wondering, how do you set your email to have a different sound as text messages? Also, how do you set your notifications to vibrate when the sound is off?

There was a post somewhere on this forum that explains the best way to organize your sounds and such.
What you do is create a folder named "media" on your sdcard if it isn't already there, then you create a folder within it called "audio", then within that folder you create three other folders, "alarms", "notifications" and "ringtones". If you do that, you'll find anything you've loaded into these folders in the default selection menus in the phones settings.

sdcard/music
sdcard/notifications (<---this is the one we're talking about)
sdcard/ringtones

Google Voice -> Super Mario Brothers coin sound
Email -> Super Mario Brothers jump sound

Gmail app>options>more>settings>Select ringtone and chose a specific tone other than "default ringtone"
Or whatever email app(s) you use.

You don't have to specifically organize folders like this. The folders just need to be named properly.

Just curious... Why would anyone willingly choose to ever hear that THX sound? I thought that was as universally hated as Carrot Top.
Try looking up subjective preference sometime. Just because you dislike something doesn't mean that everyone does.

DUDE NO WAY!

I'm using that too LOL

And my E-Mail notification is "You've got mail" -from AOL

And my gtalk/nimbuzz is the imrcv from Aol as well.

It's simple.

It's loud.

The file is small.

The only downside is that it startles everyone around you :D But I guess that's what it is supposed to do.

The MGS alert for emails... good to see other people use it. 'Droooooid' for text messages, and from Scrubs 'Good God in Heaven, Newbie, there are just so many ways I can say this to you" Cox rant for Twitter notifications.

Is there anyways to do this when you have no computer to rename the folders on the SD card. Like can you use astro file manager on your phone to create these folders. I remember on my Aria when I had it you could just assign text notifications just as easy as ringtones, but it seems on my EVO this is not the case. Being the bigger badder phone you would think that it would be that simple but I have noticed that this seems to be the case on all the upper tier Android phones.

Never mind I got it using astro and finding out that I had it all alone just had to copy the file I wanted (the mail motherf'er from the movie euro trip) so that is now my notification sound awesome.

SMS - "Oh No, Oh No, Ohhhh yeaaah" (Family Guy Kool-Aid Main bit)
Google talk- Samuel L Jackson saying "I'm tired of these mutha ****in snakes, on these mutha ****in planes"
Email - "Mail Mutha ****ah" From Euro Trip

lol as you can see i like mines to stop everybody in the room lol

For my notification tune I use "That's what she said" from The Office and my ringtone hasn't changed for a long time and that's System F - Out of the blue.

Nice! I may have to steal that idea. :) Use that for texts and maybe "I grilled my foot!" for emails. (no, it doesn't make much sense, but that episode is so great...)

For my generic ringtone : old phone ring
many personalized ringtones
incoming txt: chime when they display the price on antiques roadshow
incoming email: three blips from rocket on little einsteins
sound when you connect and disconnect charger: nextel chirp
