Read through kernels for dummies, through posts and I guess I haven't graduated to dummie yet.

Mikg2.56 with sense

Looking to increase battery life.

Mild to moderate internet and videos use, occasional picture mms or email

Moderate to heavy gaming

well, it is a Sense Rom, so you need a Sense Kernel.

On roms and kernel page look for the sense ones, under Gingerbread. The Freedom ones are popular, some like the Aggressive, I have had more luck with the More freedom one.

well there currently three (four if you count poonsense that is only available with kernel manager). we have freedom, chop suey, and golden monkey. kernels will vary from phone to phone so i would suggest that you make a nandroid backup and try one. i would suggest that you try the aggressive freedom and then work your way down the line. give it a few days as the kernel needs time to settle. after a few days then you can decide to move on or not.
