Root White Widow

rapid battery drain on this rom?

What gives?

First root and first rom, but when I took it off the charger it dropped from 100 to 87 in 2 minutes.

Do I need to give it time to get used to the battery?
 
Just upgraded to 4.6 and first question... how can I get the old boot animation back? I liked that electric X thing... it was pretty cool looking ;)

unzip a copy of the rom that has the animation you want, put the file into your sdk/tools folder, adb push bootanimation.zip /system/data

i believe.

thats pretty quick. my battery life is pretty good.

are you using autokiller?

Possibly. Although I'm using the extended battery, my battery did not discharge nearly that fast

Which file...? :confused:

Nevermind, I found bootanimation.zip in /system/media within the ROM file. Should I push it to /system/media then? Or is /system/data the correct location?

Yes, on its medium setting.

Only other root app I installed was AdFree, which was the most recent one, and I don't remember it draining terribly fast before that.

Id rather see ads and have the phones battery last if that's it. :)
 
I cant install anything because I keep getting an insufficient space error any ideas?

Nevermind I see I just have to partition my sd card.

There is a guide on the top of the root section. Sorry, i'd post a link but I'm on my phone driving. You should still have the recovery image on your sdcard, so it's justa few comands you need to enter.
 
If you metamorph the mms.apk does it change the app to possibly a mms.apk that doesn't have working mms? Or is it more of just a visual change?

Also, most the mm I have found look in the system/app when changing the app. With this rom some apps are located in system/app and some in data/app. Since the mm doesn't look in data/app it can't change those apps. Can I just move those apps to system/app, apply the mm, then just nih ce them back to data/app folder? Or is this not a good idea?

This is because a long press is supposed to bring up the camera I believe. Can anyone elaborate on the SD partition? Do I just choose "partition SD" or do I also need to go from ext2 to ext3 ??
 
DDustiNN mentioned the youtube HQ option that wasn't available to use on the 3G network...I noticed that too. Before I was able to use that option by choice even if I wasn't on a WIFI connection. Can that be done still?
 
Is anyone having trouble w/ Metamorph?? I can't seem to get it started? It gets stuck at the "initializing" stage. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app w/ no luck! I want to apply some add ons from the Elixer theme...
 
Just a heads up... With the market app on 4.6 ever time I apply a mm theme for vending.apk it makes the market not open. Force closes every time. Doesn't matter what mm I use. I know that's not your issue but, I was just curious about what's different with the market in 4.6 because I never ran into this problem with earlier versions.
 
YES! Can't wait to see if MMS actually works. Will it work with Handcent too? Or just stock? I have tried everything, and no matter what, I can only receive one MMS then it doesn't work anymore. So pumped if this works.
 
Is anyone else having issue with email? Mine will not load emails with pictures, graffics or attachments. It will also keep reloading the same emails over and over again after I delete them. I love this ROM other then this issue.

BTW I'm not referring to Gmail
 
what profiles do you guys use for SetCpu. im dealing with some minor lag. mainly whenever i hit the Home key or when i wake my phone up. right now im not using any profiles and have max at 710 and min at 710.

any tips? thanks
 
Just flashed WW 4.6. Really like the flow and the camera working.

Linpack is scoring 50-60% lower at the same CPU clock compared to other ROMs.

I flashed JIT-off ( assumed it was on be default as stated ) to see if it made any diff.

I need to be able to remove the autokiller as well, it won't uninstall.

I've noticed a different with linpack too, even when compared to earlier WW roms. With the first couple WW versions I was topping out at about 5.3mflops. Now, with all settings the same I'm topping out at 3.2mflops
 
Now that MMS works for the regular messaging app and If you like Popup option on Handcent, but you'd prefer to use the standard message app then i'd suggest Downloading SMS Popup from the Market.
