Who got the update??

Well, mine worked fine without the update. Missed an important call this morning with the phone right in front of me. The phone never rang or alerted me to the call in any way. There is no missed call showing in the call log. There was a voice mail, but it was so garbled I could barely tell who it was.

Thanks Verizon for taking a perfectly good phone and making it useless. :(

Got the update this morning about 10:30. Took eight minutes to download, install, and reboot. Was on leak v3. Haven't made any calls yet. Phone seems to be running smoother so far.

Got my update just this morning. I guess I just haven't noticed the bugs. I do, on occasion have problems making and receiving calls. Typically, at that point, I fire up Advanced Task Killer to see 10 or 15 apps that I didn't open (photoshop, skype, wordpress, etc.) I promptly kill them and my phone actually acts like a phone instead of an underpowered pocket laptop. Excited to see if perhaps the phone app gets a little more priority now (thinking multitasking may not be a good idea for the eris at least.)

UPDATE: After 30 minutes of being on, my phone is rocking longer. Perhaps HTC made some refinements to Sense. Maybe, I'm just being a bit too hasty to make a judgment here.

Received it this morning (2.1v3). Seems my signal strength has increased and the battery is lasting a bit longer. Never had the silent bug, so can't comment. Still doesn't shoot lasers, so my fingers are crossed for the next update.

Been running 2.1v3 for a while now and received the OTA update this morning.

I have noticed that my PRL version is different from what people are posting here.

PRL Version

I got the update this morning as well. So are there any physical changes or anything noticeably different than prior to the update? I can't find even the slightest change.

And what was improved in messaging? It seems identical to before.

nothing here either..south florida evo 4g

because you're not a Droid Eris...

got mine in south florida this morning, felt like forever, felt like i was one of the last. i dont notice anything different, still a little laggy in areas like before. but NO SILENT BUG, i've used my phone a handful of times already today, i've received calls as well. and i've been in the middle of things, and had calls come thru. so far looking real good, keeping my fingers crossed.

No love here, still waiting

Could it be because I did the manula OTA 2.1 update?
I'm feeling lonly.

My wife's Eris hasn't gotten the new OTA yet either. Hers is running 2.1 OTA (received OTA, not installed manually).

So at least some of us are still waiting.

First time poster, here.

I just updated my phone yesterday. It fixed the weather bug (whoopee?)... but now I dont get any reception bars at places I used to get at least 2. And now, when i'm just standing outside, it sometimes still tells me I have zero.

I dont want to, but should I factory reset and then re-update?

EDIT: I just read above, it seems factory reset wont fix this issue? I'd rather have reception than the weather widget...

i jumped ship and loaded it manually. the dialer seems A LOT snappier. im going to root tonight.

oz90630, i suggest you just root too. then you'll have 2.1 AND root!

Got my OTA update Monday morning. I'm in Eastern NC on Verizon's network. My phone died in the middle of the night so I'm not sure how the update downloaded but it applied no problem. I did the 2.1 RUU late last week.

Nothing OTA (Western NY) so I stumbled through the manual update.zip process.

I don't notice any difference or improvements in any way, yet. I suppose if I ever (at all) hit "4 bars" on my signal strength, then I'll know this update took?... (Seemed that I got about the same signal strength as other Verizon customers around me, but bars didn't properly display. Even next to a tower, I never got more than 3 bars.)

Also, any need to update the roaming (*something something)? I think I read that the roaming was updated with this?...

Can't get rid of the 50% signal bug, since getting the update. I've tried the Airplane mode fix 4 times today, I guess it's time to do a factory reset.

I'm on leak 2.1v3 and received the OTA update today. Lots of reboots and took about 6 minutes. Had to upgrade the My Verizon app but I don't know if I would have to do that anyway. So far everything looks the same. 50% bug is still there. I've only had the silent bug twice (that I know of) so I don't know if this has been fixed.

Help! I got the notification the update was available this morning. I hit install and it just disappeared. Never installed and doesn't show up when I go to system updates. I know it didn't install because I had a buddy of mine who already had the update email the software version on his phone.

Any tips?

I woke up to my phone advising me of an update.
I was already running 2.1 on a 1 month old phone. Can anyone tell me what the update MAY have done for me? I see no difference, yet.
BTW, I wasn't having any problems.
