Who has an official 2.3.4 firmware update via Kies?

I'd like to try the 2.3.4 firmware but no joy for me! Where are you all getting the latest version of Kies from? I'm in the UK, my phone is from O2 currently running PDA:KF3/PHONE:KE7/CSC:KG2(O2U). 2.0.2.11071_128 is the version of Kies that I have (latest on the Samsung UK website) When I connect my phone it does not tell me that there is any new firmware available. When I check for Kies update from within Kies it tells me that I am running the latest version.

latest keis, mines just finished updating.

I'm on Orange and got my phone through dial-a-phone

Well after having to instal yet another update to Kies, restart my computer, reinstall phone drivers, and one failed attempt I'm now on 2.3.4. Was very gald to see that it saved all my data/setting ect and didn't need to re-install my backup.

So far can't spot any differance, but I'm hoping for better battery life!

No the fault is not mine, my Galaxy is sim free so expect update before branded Galaxy's. This is their flagship device and now they are starting to release 2.3.5 before most of their users have 2.3.4. To me THAT is crap service!

I predict you have a unhappy life as nothing will make you happy.

No phone maker produces upgrades at the speed you desire. Best of luck to you.

I have an update available but it doesn't work. It gets to the downloading firmware screen after the back up but then Kies loses the connection to the phone, and the process starts all over again.

edit:

I reinstalled Kies - same issue
I then done the connection troubleshooting from tools. This reinstalled the drivers. I then tried again and it worked to a degree.
The next issue was that the phone rebooted and had the bootup 'S' logo stuck on screen. I waited but nothing happened.
I then held the power button for 5 odd seconds to force it to turn off. I turned it back on and all was well including the update to 2.3.4

After your Kies installation, have it check for an update under the HELP menu. If you have the latest version, use the driver repair tool. Then reboot. Restart Kies and then plug your SG2 in via USB.

On Vodafone UK unbranded (via Phones4U). Kies just upgraded phone firmware to:
PDA:KI4/PHONE:KI1/CSC:KH2 (XEU)

2.3.4

Well updated on friday and so far so good, I like a few of the layout changes. The battery life does seem better I got 26 hours out of it and the gps was on for 12 of those hours and wifi on for another 2 hours.

Yes pal i updated mine last night.its 2.3.4.same as yourself my s2 is out of carphoneware house/unlocked.but got it sealed off gumtree from paislay.but yes the kies is ready ..im in hamilton and im on o2. For the ones having problems with Polaris office, go to manage applications and clear the data from Polaris office.
It worked for me.

Anyone having trouble with Polaris force closing when trying to open excel files after update.
I need this for work so rather snapped off about it so if anyone has a fix it would be most appriciated

Ok I found the answer to the Polaris office problem with reading Excel files after upgrage.
Go to: Settings>Manage Applications>All scroll down to Polaris and click on it then clear the cache
worked for me anyway

Just hooked up to Kies, got a firmware update to KI4/KI1/KI1 (H3G). l'm guessing it is 2.3.4 for ThreeUK but i need to charge first :L. Will post back asap when updated.

Yep, 2.3.4! Yayness. ^^

Same here mate, about 35% through (it's taking forever!!).

Samsung are rubbish, I left HTC because of their lack of upgrades to the Desire. Will now leave Samsung for the same reason.

Wow Samsung have released tons of updates..I've only had my phone three weeks and I've already had a firmware update.

I got a Kies update the other day and then a firmware update immediately afterwards which I hoped would be 2.3.4. Unfortunately, upon checking after the update, I'm still on 2.3.3 and the phone reports:

PDA: KH2 / PHONE: KH1 / CSC: KH2 (ORA)

This is on Orange.

I had the exact same thing except mine was 2.3.4!

Unlocked UK SGS2.

yep, i'm with three (h3g) and i updated yesterday.

whole process was pretty painless, but it took AGES to download the update from the web, but only a few minutes to apply it to the handset.

All in all, not too many changes but the browser and the phone generally feels much more responsive.

Have I lost the plot or has the 2.3.4 update taken away the ability to change the SMS message conversation window's appearance?

I'm confused :( New Android and Kies user on a Mac.

After eventually finding a version of Kies that I could install on Lion, and then upgrade (and after it crashed my Mac twice!) I've finally got it to recognise that I have SGS2 attached via USB.

All it says now is "GT-I900 does not support firmware upgrades". My current version is PDA:KG3/PHONE:KG2/ CSC:KG3 (ORA)

My phone is Orange UK branded, which I can see a number of people have managed to upgrade to 2.3.4 on - so I'm not sure why I'm not getting it? Is it the Mac? Also my version of Kies is 1.0.1XXXX (but insists that it's up to date) rather than version 2.X I noticed some users mentioned on previous posts.

The latest version of Kies is 2.0.3.11082_152. Wether that's the reason or not is another thing. I've never used Lion. Best I can suggest is going to "Help" on Kies and "Check for updates" again.

Wish I could of been more use to you. :s

Thanks anyway. As i mentioned Kies insists that its up to date. I reinstalled it directly from Samsung (seems they've made it Lion compatible) and still its down as v1.01. I suspect its versions are different on windows and mac.

Doesn't get me any closer to an update though. With ICS due out shortly, I'm not by hopeful of getting it anytime this year.

I miss iTunes.:(
