Looks like there will be no oneplus one either. They will either wait for components price to drop, or increase the price, or not release it at all. They cannot make money with these specs and price on the market today, and they are not Google to make it from services. Just look at the price list of other Chinese phones. Everyone has to buy components from the same vendors, and startups like this are only likely to pay more than what already established names are paying. This whole thing is a hoax.

except this isn't true as i have had this phone for 3 days now along with others who have gotten theirs and for the $350 pricetag they promised.

you are correct on them not making any money on this device which is what they planned from the beginning in not seeing a profit for the first 2 years.

Sounds like either you know something the rest of the world doesn't about OnePlus's business dealings, or else you're blowing smoke (to what end, really?)...

IIRC, the major holdup in their supply chain is rooted in the procural of the screens, which have a 3 month manufacturing turnaround from when orders are placed. This particular fact, in combination with their (conservative) underestimation of worldwide demand is the direct cause of their lack of available stock over the past few weeks.

Keeping in mind based on that timeline they had to guess at worldwide demand for their product weeks BEFORE the phone was even announced to get the first batches out when they did, I don't think anybody can reasonably call shenanigans (much less "hoax") before the phone proves to be unavailable for at least another month or so.

To the original thread - nothing on the horizon is changing the 1+1's value proposition as the absolute best deal on a flagship-tier upgrade. I for one can't wait for the opportunity to place my order!

Soooo... where are the pictures and your review of the phone? We've been waiting patiently :)

If you're like me and just can't get enough coverage... your best bet is youtube + filters in their search to find recent reviews/unboxings/demonstrations... quite a bit of sandstone black 64GB models have come out in the last week on the 'tubes:

Try this link as an example... i think it will retain the filter settings:

My plan has been to purchase the 1+1 but we are moving across the USA to a remote place and T-Mobile's (current carrier) service is pretty dismal and at&t is worse. The only real options right now are CDMA carriers unless Sprint and T-Mobile merge and I cam use my gsm device.

But for the time being it looks like the 1+1 is no longer in my future.

I just find it kind of amazing how quick many people are to sling mud at One+ for doing things that all of their competition have done, just because they're new to the scene.

Well, they are not doing one small thing their competitors are doing - selling phones.

Yeah, I can do that. Call volume is plenty loud for me. Call quality is clear for me and the person on the other end can hear me well. I have not tried speakerphone yet.

I was one of the Race Day Winners. I received my OPO this past Friday.
How's the screen? Any noticeable yellow areas or spots?

Just got an invite a few minutes ago. :D
Waiting for a tracking number.
Does anyone know how about how long shipping/delivery is to the US once it's on its way?

THX! :)

Should be pretty quick. They said they would stage inventory at distribution centers in their launch countries. It will be coming from the US, not China.

Have fun with your One :)

Warehouse is in California. I use standard delivery for mine. Got it in 3 days time. They shipped it Priority Mail.

Glad they're using USPS.
The local USPS delivery person will ensure that someone actually takes delivery, instead of dropping it at the doorstep.
YEAH,I'm looking at you UPS! :p

Paid for the OPO yesterday, got the USPS tracking number moments ago, less than 36 hrs after ordering.

Hoping for arrival before the weekend rolls around.............

EDIT/UPDATE:
It's on it's way, just processed through the USPS City of Industry,CA. facility.

Looks like it'll be here by the weekend of 7/12-7/13. :)

Congratulations!

I'm so happy for you. It's so nice to see a good guy get an invite to purchase the phone. OP's forum is so clogged with idiots it's just disgusting.

Your review is something I'm truly looking forward to. Finally a report that'll be trustworthy and honest.

Cheers :)

Right back at ya!

Looks like 7/11 is the day.
I'll take a quick look at the few noted concerns I've read about (possible yellowish screen tint, overall volume & call volume quality) & try to follow-up a day or two later w/a more thorough look-see.

Its not, but not all carriers give you a discount on your month to month bill for bringing your own phone. In those cases, essentially you're paying the same whether you get a subsidized phone or not.

In that scenario its more expensive.

Totally agreed. But the point that the G3 would be more expensive doesn't necessarily hold up because orion is in the US, and his carrier (sprint) doesn't give you cheaper plans for bringing your own phone.

I think I'm splitting hairs here, as the 1P1 isnt on sprint so the scenario doesnt matter

Huh? Reading this makes me a little fuzzy. Contracts and subsidized phones are only good for one thing. That thing is not you. TMO has started to break that mold a little. But you are still going to pay for that six month lease. Its pretty simple. Its still credit. Credit has a interest rate. Long term. If you can afford it. Buy your phone and own it. If you cant then lease it. But please dont beguile yourself in to thinking your paying the same amount. Your not. Contracts are good for corporations. Not customers.
