Who is going to drop the DX for the Iphone?

As many of you have probably read, the Wall Street Journal said yesterday that Verizon will be selling the Iphone early next year.

How many of you will drop the Droid X for the Iphone?

I am so fed up with the 3g drop issue! Verizon sent me a replacement phone. Not only did the replacement phone arrive with the same 3g drop issues, the replacement phone has such a bad buzzing in the ear piece that it's hard to hear someone speaking!

I will switch in a heartbeat.
 
I can never go back to a smaller screen. Plus, the apple nose in the air attitude bothers me. Not going to jump onto that bandwagon.
 
I won't be switching. Smaller screen, slower processor, less memory, non expandable memory, less battery life, non exchangeable battery, no widgets, notifications suck, no true multi-tasking, limits on folders, no tethering, worse antenna and reception, not as good of noise cancellation, no hdmi, worse camera (now with 2.2), no flash, no sweeterhome...

nah, i'll keep my droid x. i will only be swapping my phones for better android phones since they come out every 3 months. Since tech is my hobby it's great. Poor iphone users stuck with the same piece of hardware for 12 months. Sad they are such slowpokes today :(

Neh, i would never .....................why don't you replace your X again? You probably ended up with a "bad" device. I have had many different smart phones, but this Dx is just perfect, the best. No issues ever.... am I lucky one?:eek:
 
I only upgrade phones when new ones come out, I am not going to downgrade to the iPhone. When the iPhone 5 comes out it will probably still be a step down from the current Android phones and miles behind the high end Androids we will have in July. Apple is trying to play catch up now and they aren't doing a very good job.
 
I let my iPhone go for my X. I loved my iPhone but was ready for something more. I love how customizable my X is and the larger screen is the perfect size, IMO. Great clarity, great size, right weight, very slim....it has it all!

When a NEW iPhone comes out on Verizon, I would be very interested in learning more about it...but right now, there isn't a phone that exists that I'd choose over my X :)
 
I use Linux so I can't get an iPhone, even if I wanted to. Android is just fine for me. :)
 
What's to say you won't have similar 3G issues with the iPhone? Mine goes out occasionally -- all I do is turn Mobile Data off and back on and it usually resolves it. (The problem I'm having isn't a drop from 3G to 2G though, but a complete disconnect from the data network, it seems). My previous BB Storm would do the same every now and then, so I doubt switching phones will stop that from happening. Granted, the buzzing needs to be rectified, but that's not inherent to the X itself.

I will get my second replacement phone tomorrow. I just don't think it will solve the problem of my 3g signal constantly dropping to 1x. This is a known issue with the Droid X that Motorola seems to be ignoring. There are so many things I love about this phone, but it is so frustrating when I am going to a web page or watching a youtube video and I loose the 3g connection.

Yes, I've tried a *228 and I've also tried the dreaded "Factory Data Reset".

Nothing seems to help. I am in the heart of New York City where we have great 3g coverage and my phone constanty drops from 3g to 1x.
 
I recieved a refurb/replacement and the 3G signal is a lost cause. I wont bother getting another one I guess real 3G is a perk for some.
 
What's this iPhone thing you are talking about? If there was something better then my X, than I would have heard about it.
 
no way in hell will i ever go back to a screen thats less that 4" haha. the only thing the iPhone has on the X is iTunes and thats def not worth the trade.... hopefully google will release a music/app sync tool. that would make android perfect

I have had many issues with the X, but the primary issue is the phones inability to hold a 3g signal. I do not have an issue with call quality.

One would hope that with the Iphone being on Verizon's network, that we wouldn't experience the connectivity issues current Iphone users have on the ATT network.
 
If Apple redesigns the phone and add if true comes in small or large sizes, then I will drop the Droid x in a heartbeat. I miss the quality app store and the ecosystem.

Agreed. You forgot "forced to use iTunes".

Also agreed.

I just came from the "Walled Garden" of Apple and left it for good reasons. I don't like anyone telling me what I can't install on my phone. Why would I want to go back to that? I can use whatever dialer, SMS or browser apps I desire on my Droid X without the Apple Fashion Police telling me "you'll use ours and like it".
 
No removable battery, or no easily removable battery for the iPhone....customization up the ying yang out the box with Android....

I will stick with the X (great reception, battery life and call quality) and Android.
 
I am a WinMo convert to Android as I think many are. I will never switch to an iPhone. The X is an amazing phone, I am sure in a year there will be something better other that is an Android phone as well and I would look at that, but not the iPhone. My wife was wanting a Kindle, but I told her that I would rather look at getting her an iPad (at the time) because for a little more it can do so much more. Then I got my X and love the Andriod system. I told her she is going to have to wait a little longer until the Android Pad version comes out next year. I will not get anything that starts with i****.
 
Not only no but H-E-double hockeysticks no... I'd switch back to a feature phone before I'd give my money to Steve Jobs.
