Whoa, how did I never notice this before???

The volume buttons wake the DX up from sleeping? I thought only the power button and home button did. Is this something that came with the GB leak I flashed? Or has it always been like this and I just never realized it?

9 months later, and I'm still learning things about this device!

Really? That's what I'm on, the first leak. If anything I figured that was the culprit. Hmmm... I do have 'Search2Play', the app that changes my camera button to a play/pause button for my music player, but I don't remember seeing anything on there about giving the volume rocker the power to wake the device up.

I turned it off, pulled the battery out, rebooted it and... volume buttons still wake it up. Strange?
 
All of my buttons, except the camera button, wake my phone. Never noticed that until I read your post.

Actually I do have WL, but it's frozen in TiBU. But I suppose if downloading that app gives all of your buttons the ability to wake the phone up, then it probably doesn't matter if it's frozen or not.

Hey you know what, now that you say that all of mine besides my camera button also wake my DX up. Do you have Widget Locker installed also?
 
I have Simply Lockscreen, not Widget Locker. Maybe it has something to do with replacing stock lockscreen?
 
If your buttons are doing this, then the keyguard has been disabled. Lots of apps can do this, but it is not normal behavior, it is being specifically caused by an app. WL can do it. Any app that interferes with the lock screens can do it - i.e. an app that disables the swipe to unlock, an app that bypasses security, anything like that.

I have Tasker set to turn off the keyguard when I am connected to my BT headset so that I can wake my phone up without using the security pattern if I'm on a call or listening to music.
 
I've got WL. Is there a way to disable the volume buttons from waking the device?
 
Mine doesn't do that. I don't trust you. SHOW ME YOUR BIRTH CERTIFICATE! (steven runs again)

I've been looking ever since I first got my DX for something that does this... and you've known about it the whole time?!? Outlaw, I thought we were friends...
 
Running stock 2.2.1 with Widget Locker, and only buttons that wake my phone are the power button and the home button.

Sure. Open widget locker, hit Menu > Settings > Buttons and Inputs > Uncheck "Easy Wake Mode"

That's because Easy Wake Mode isn't checked by default.
 
Well I have Widget Locker (frozen) & No Lock (running) on my DX. Between them two apps I aughta be able to wake my Droid up just by lookin at him!
