who's keeping thier phone?

I've had the iPhone 3gs over a year now and after many good years with AT&T before moving here 3.5 years ago, I'm fed up with the lack of coverage at home. After much research, I chose to try T-Mobile and the Vibrant. My 14 days is up on Tuesday and I'm leaning toward returning the Vibrant.

I have many of the problems much discussed in these forums plus I'm very disappointed in the quality and completeness of the basic Android apps. I have trouble getting my email, bluetooth is spotty, all the music apps I've tried lack the most rudimentary functions of the iphone's ipod app, everything seems to require work arounds to get the same functionality as the iphone for what I use. Android just feels not ready for prime time. The best example of this is the google maps app which should shine in google's android play ground but the iphone google maps is a better, cleaner app all the way around plus the iphone gps works. :(

On the plus side, I love the screen and the general look and feel of the phone. Also, T-Mobile coverage is much, much better in my area and in test calls to friends and relative, call quality is much improved. :D

So my quandary is do I keep the iphone and stay with the known AT&T issue or pay to break my contract and go with the Vibrant with its and android's potential. Tough decision ahead.

I would say you should wait. Don't get the wrong idea here, I really like my Vibrant and after using it for the last month there's no way I'd switch to an iPhone or anything else out there right now. I feel like in your case though your 3GS is doing everything you need it to, with the exception of good call reception. Why not just wait until your contract is up and take a good long look at Android then?

By then apps will have had more time to mature and become more "polished" as you say. At the rate the hardware is going, there might even be a quad core powered, 1tb memory phone out by then.;)
