Why do people blare music?

Salut! Tu habites a Paris, France? Je suis tres jaloux!... mais, j'etudierai a Paris pour un semestre au printemps. Mon majeur est le francais et l'italien. Je parle decemment, mais j'ai besoin de plus pratique.

By the way, your name reminds me of Amanda Bynes. lol

Haha yea I live in Paris but I think your French is way better than mine.. Really? Where has amanda bynes dissapeared to..

lol @the cholo

i used to dress and act like a CHOLA

lol now im a preppy Holister girl

but seriously it is to show off. I mean if you heard something loud chances are you are going to look and see what it was.

the music is loud and if its a song everybody knows and gets crunk to then heads are going to turn(especially if the guy is driving a nice car)

lol yes i am one of "THOSE" girls lol

I love playing my music loudly. And once or twice I got out and left the engine running (like at a gas station or quickie-mart) and when I got back, I was surprised how I could hear my music from outside my car.

I'm not saying all, but I'm sure SOME of those people don't realize that the world can hear their music.

i think most people can hear their music they just don't care.
Trust me i know my music is loud even without stepping out of the car, i just don't care lol

And i know the people with the expensive systems know its loud because that's kind of the reason they have the system haha

Most people with systems don't have them set up properly and sound like absolute crap.

Tapatalk. Samsung Moment. Yep.

Just wondering if the epidemic that is playing music from a phones naff internal speakers and walking round with it in your pocket afflicts teenagers accross the pond as it does here in the UK?

I guess I have to add to the conversation... why do people play their music so loudly at parties to the point where you can barely hear the person in front of you? Is there a reasoning to that? Whenever I have friends get together, we play games and play music in the background so there's not a dead silence when everyone's quiet. We don't have to raise our voices or yell at each other to be heard. We can have normal conversations. I was never into the whole college party scene, never want to be a part of it, and have essentially grown out of it.

I'm much more of a cocktail party person. :) Sophistication, fine wines and liquor, and mature adults. I know that may be snobbish to some people... but do you see 30 yr olds going to parties and doing keg stands?

I host a lot of parties -- cocktail parties, not keggers -- and I think it just kinda happens. People are talking, and drinking, and then they start talking louder. Someone turns the music up to bring it back to a level where you can hear it at all, and the cycle starts all over again. More people show up over the course of an evening, which of course compounds the problem, and before you know it, the music is MUCH louder than where it started.

He means if the kids here also walk around w/ their phones blaring music in their pockets loud enough that you can hear it from far away.. I think? lol

Well i guess i am one of the teens he is talking about being 17, i am constantly on my ipod touch....

So yeah i'm guilty of this lol

My mom always says she hears me before seeing me lol

guess its a global thing with us teens haha

Thats the one! ;) Aggravates the hell out of me, being a grumpy old 25 year old :D:D One thing I do enjoy doing is walking next to them while dancing like a muppet. That soon freaks them out enough to turn it off :D

Muppet...that is cute lol

and oh dear if you came up and starting dancing, i'd probably dance with ya...

I do the oddest things in public sometimes lol

Acting a fool in public is rather grand.. it makes for a good story - ask me about my bout w/ the Naked Cowboy in Times Square lol

I like to play my music kinda loud when I have a decent audio setup and I say kinda because I don't like to play it loud just to play it loud. I still like it to sound clean but enough where I can jam to it.

Playing anything too loud with any audio setup usually results in it sounding like genuine garbage. The only time I'll play something moderately loud is when I'm on the freeway or on a road where I probably won't bother anyone else with it. I try to be considerate and if I'm pulling into residential areas or when on the streets, I keep in mind that not everyone will like to listen to what I'm listening to, so I turn it down. I used to have a setup in my car where even sometimes when I turned it down, you'd still hear a little bit of the bass outside of the car, but then again low frequencies travel farther than highs. I wouldn't do it to bother people on purpose. I often hear people drive by in our neighborhood with loud music, often sounding like crap (and more often than not, it IS crap).

Like others have said, it tends to be those people that are attention deprived and feel like they have to have all eyes on them at all times. If someone drives by me with loud music, I completely ignore them and go on doing whatever I'm doing. Sometimes when they pull up right next to me at a stop light or something, I let out a yawn, just in case they're checking to see if I'm looking at them.

For me, I have to listen to my music loud, especially on the highway. I have 33" mud terrains on my truck and they howl like a mother going down the street or highway. On top of that my Flowmaster 40 series produces a good rumble as well.

Long story short.. it was premeditated but I intentionally dressed like a bum and hogged up Naked Cowboy's territory which got me a lot of tips.. let's just say he wasn't thrilled

The "me" generation... my gratification,
my inconsideration, and my rudeness. And
yes, police need to be called to let them
know that there are other people in the
world that need to be considered.

i like nothing more than having my music blareing out loud, just allows me to chill and relax, while banging to some metal :D

i just helps me to relax and zone out...however, i never do it inconsideratly, only when the ytime comes for me to be able to crack it upto 11 :P
