Help Why is the Gingerbread update for the Evo shift so much better than the Evo 4G??

Hi all,
Sorry if this has been brought up already.. I downloaded the Gingerbread update for the Evo Shift last night. It is 10 times better than the update for the Evo 4G!? My wife has the Evo 4G and totally got shafted. The update for the Shift is incredible!

Any explanations?
 
All I needed from the official OTA was the kernal... Since we got it all kinds of amazing roms have started working to their full potential. I'm having a new love affair with the evo...

i remember the last update (software 3.70) we had and they hype on how awesome it was going to be. i was so disappointed especially when they added more bloatware. just be glad that they did not do that this time around. but yeah i agree this latest one is so vanilla.

Agreed. I just rooted last month and I'm still playing around with some Froyo ROMs. I'm waiting for the GB roms to get that "fix" for Netflix, then I'll be really flashing more. I already tried Miks, Synergy and Kings Sense 2.1/3.0 Roms and they are good.
 
Agreed, the GB OTA update for Evo Shift has more that the one available for rooted Evos. With the enhancements be available for EVOs?
 
I'm not following the replies completely.. Has anyone else noticed how much better the Evo Shift gingerbread update is?

Ok... Just wanted to make sure it wasn't just me.. The Evo Shift Gingerbread is incredible - feels like a brand new phone!
 
My wife has the EVO Shift, and the OTA 2.3 update is far and away MUCH better than the the one the EVO received. Its not one thing better, but many!

I think I am still fuzzy on what Sense does for me...

If I am using Launcher Pro...do I care at all about Sense? In other words, does Sense do anything beyond the desktop interaction?
