wildfire froyo update.

Having read all the forums here re Froyo, I am tempted to be extremely pessimistic that Froyo will ever happen (like most other subscribers). :(

I just hope RyanRaven's confidence is justified and he has some 'inside' knowledge. If so - here's hoping!! :)

Its already out in china thats y lol just waiting for the carrier to get the update then HTC will release it for their unbranded/unlocked phones.
then branded phones will have to wait a bit longer.

HTC UK on facebook are repeatedly stating 2.2 for Wildfire is coming soon/ by the end of the year/ in time for christmas.

Just upgraded to Froyo and wow ... it was worth the wait. My Wildfire runs much smoother now.

I'm getting Spam push messages coming through ever since I updated to Froyo.
Is there a way of disabling this and still keep my Gmail?

I.E. Disable Push, but still be able to check my Gmail manually.

Oops , meant to raise new thread.

Hm, well, speaking of which, where do I activate Push for my Gmail account?

Does the phone automatically back up the settings etc before the update or will I have to redo everything (scenes, apps, accounts etc) afterwards? Thanks

its always best to wipe the data off the phone anyways people are having problems when updating to Froyo so they reset the phone to factory settings and it works fine but apps will be deleted your contacts should save to gmail i you have set it up but you will need to redo your accounts.

I do have one problem after the update though. Sometimes the Mobile Network connection simply disappears and doesn't automatically come back (no G, H or 3G indicator present at the top at all). The only way to get it working again is temporarily disabling and enabling it again.
