Will the Nexus Prime be on Sprint

I read something today that it will be exclusive to Sprint and I PRAY that I read wrong. I will be soooo pissed if this is a Sprint phone.

I would like to know where you read that from. If that's true, I'll be thrilled. But I think all the carriers should have this phone.

I cant remember off the top of my head, it might have been the Android Central App on my phone, so that doesn't really help. All carriers would be nice, AT LEAST Verizon as they seem to be the standard for Droid Devices.

I'm in the same boat as many of you. I was eligible to upgrade back in July, but I wasn't impressed by the HTC Evo 3d and waited. Now I'm not so sure if I want to get the SGS2 with the Nexus Prime on the horizon. After reading this thread many of you mentioned how Samsung may not want to release the Nexus Prime soon and on all carriers since it would steal sales from their soon to be released Galaxy s2 phones. What if the Galaxy s2 isn't available come October though? Apple has been suing Samsung, claiming that their Galaxy devices "slavishly" copied the iphone. I believe that I read somewhere (sorry no source/link) that the U.S. court hearing was scheduled for October. Should Apple win and successfully ban the SGS2, Samsung would be left without a flagship device. Perhaps this is where the Nexus Prime comes in?

The Sprint one comes out next week my friend. Which one are you talking about? Some people already pre-ordered.

Correct, but I'm saying what if the Galaxy S2 is yanked from stores if Apple wins the lawsuit? Samsung has already had to pull some of their Galaxy products of the shelves in European countries. So if Apple wins and says Samsung copying their patented design, then they have the right to remove the Galaxy S2. Right now there's no worry of not being able to purchase a GS2. Its just in a month or two where it may not be possible.

You may see Sprint SGS2 forum here for this matter. But I found an interesting note from a guy there who seems to be more knowledgeable than me on this matter. I quoted it below.

"I want to clear up any confusion over litigation from Apple.

There is no pending court injunction or request for injunction from Apple against Samsung in the U.S. Any success Apple has had from enjoining Samsung has been in Europe and then only in regard to the tablet, not the phone.

There was no need to "wait and see" on the part of Samsung. There is no current threat from Apple regarding the Galaxy S II, especially in the U.S. "

O really? Well sorry then on my part for ever bringing it up. I remember reading about it some time ago, and the possibility of it. Sorry again! Thanks for clarifying though.

This SUCKS!!!!

Only way I can work this is my wife has Verizon iPhone 4 and wants the iPhone 4S. I have an EVO 4G and want the Prime. I may trade my EVO in for the iPhone 4S and have her trade her iPhone 4 in for the Nexus Prime and we just switch numbers.

UNLESS, the nexus prime will come to Sprint VERY before the end of the year.

That's quite a plan there. I think verizon is getting the Prime first and then eventually go to the rest of the carriers. My hope is that Sprint doesnt take too long to get the Nexus Prime. I mean the time is now. Also, there are rumors of the GS3 being launched on the early part of 2012.....including the U.S. Again those are just rumors. Honestly, I have no idea what to expect. All I know is that my upgrade is not until april or moved up to Feb due to the changes Sprint is making. All I know is that my next phone will be epic.

Your original upgrade shouldn't be changed due to anything if it wasn't used yet.

I'll leave Sprint in a second if they dont get the new Nexus. They better hope they do, Also Sprint is only getting IPhone 4S at this point no IPhone 5!

I think Sprint will get it. They got the Nexus S right? My worry is when Sprint does get the Prime...will it be too little too late?

I currently have a Nexus S 4G and will definitely consider paying full price for a Nexus Prime if it comes to Sprint. However, all the leaked specs have said LTE and HSPA+ radios, so unless Sprint announces an LTE switchover at their press conference later today, we might have to wait a bit to get a WiMAX flavor of it.

And thats what I'm worried about. Sprint might not even see this phone until the first half of 2012. By then I'll be looking at other phones.

Also, if the phone is released to Verizon only does anybody have a guess to how long it will hit other carriers? I need mine on Sprint. I need to get rid of my phone pronto but have been trying to wait for this one. At this point I may just need to get the Epic Touch and call it a day.

I definitely can't wait until mid 2012. Might as well start now on my 2 year contract.

My guess? After Christmas. Verizon will make a killing if they have exclusive through the holiday season, maybe even just Black Friday.

Ugh. Can't wait till after Christmas I don't think. Any idea as to when they would at least announce a date for other carriers? I know it's all speculation but just trying to make a decision to jump now or wait it out. Wait it out more I should say. Damn you Google for messing with me so! *shakes fist*

Sprint just announced today that they are rolling LTE in 2012 and that they will continue to sell Wimax phones in 2012 and supporting them after 2012. Is it plausible that they may launch the Prime with an LTE chip instead of wimax before they rollout their LTE?
The Sprint event made me wonder if they will ever get the Prime for that matter.

It's going to be months till we see the Prime. Unless they make some major modifications with their version, its too late. 2012 is going to bring even more powerful phones.
