Will the Nexus Prime be on Sprint

I thought the Nexus Prime was going to be on every carrier. Now I hear it will be on Verizon. I hope they do release it on every carrier because I have Sprint. I have my Original Evo and have been waiting to upgrade. I was going to upgrade to the EVO 3D but decided against it. Then I was going to upgrade to the Galaxy S2, but decided against it when I heard about the Nexus. Then I hear the iPhone 5 is coming to Sprint in October, but looking at everything, I think the Nexus may be the better phone and I want that phone. If they don't come to Sprint then I don't even know what I could get then. I really have my sights on getting the Nexus. If they don't come to Sprint then I may just have to get the iPhone 5.

I would be shocked if it wasn't on Sprint. Hasn't Sprint gotten each of the last two Nexus devices? I'm thinking you'll get it, but maybe they're thinking of releasing it to Verizon first, then Sprint and TM a few weeks later. That's pure speculation of course, but I couldn't imagine Google suddenly limiting itself to only one carrier. That would be a step backwards.

It could show on Verizon first to show hey, now Verizon has it, but I personally believe we can say it'll be on every carrier from here on out

No, Sprint has only had one of the two Nexus devices. Only TMO and AT&T have had both.

Ah. . . well, who knows then. But I can't imagine a phone like that, which would probably be seen as the best iphone-killer on the market, to not be released to as wide a market as possible.

I can... at least at the beginning.

Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile all are getting the Galaxy S II next month (if the schedule holds up... we'll find out Monday). Everyone BUT Verizon, who is promising something better very "soon". I'm banking on the Prime, sometime in October up against iPhone 5.

Let's face it: Verizon has been on the short end of the Nexus stick for years. It's time for a little Prime love on Big Red and, happy as I am about you other carrier customers getting the SGS2, don't get mad at me if I get a little defensive about wanting a Prime exclusive on Verizon for awhile.

Good points. I share your feelings about the probability of Verizon getting the Prime. I honestly don't care if the other carriers get it at the same time, but with the SGSII releasing on their home-fronts next month, I doubt they'll release the Prime there in October or even November. I don't see Samsung cannibalizing their own sales within such a short period of time.

Looks like the poor folks holding their breath for Monday's SGS2 announcement will be turning even darker shades of blue:

So we're not the only folks bummed out these days

I'm in the same boat as you. I have an EVO and wanted to uprade to the 3D but I was unimpressed. I didn't see it as much of an upgrade. The GS2 is an awesome phone but its too little too late to be released here. I'm not an iPhone guy .....so forget about that one. The Nexus Prime is the first option that I actually want to upgrade to. Hopefully it comes to Sprint.

I just want the best phone out. I'm not loyal to any phone. If it's the iPhone 5 then so be it, but I don't think the iPhone 5 will be better than the Nexus Prime from everything I see so far. I really think the Nexus Prime will be the best phone out when it does come out so I hope it comes on Sprint so I can get it instead of the iPhone 5.

Hmm. I don't recall any VZW statement about putting out something "better" than the GSII "soon". Where is this statement?

If Sprint is coming out with the Sammy SGII, i wonder why they would also come out with the Sammy Prime at basically the same time................doesn't make much sense but who knows?

because apart from manufacturing it, it's not a Samsung phone. Prime will be pure Google. They're just contracting them to build it. No touchwiz, no lag on Android updates.

You mean the OS isn't Samsung. It is Google ASOP Android. However, the phone is indeed "made" by Samsung and will have equal if not better specs than the SGII........................not sure what kind of marketing issues that would cause?

Id say the fact that the nexus s4g is free/dirt cheap (depending on where you buy it) on contract at this point from sprint is a likely assumption that they are trying to clear the stock for the Prime. I hope they get it...my hero is on its way out!

lol, my Hero is on the way out too! I might have to buy whichever one is out when it finally s's the bed. Thankfully I've rooted it with CM7, which helped considerably :D
