It can be fixed. If you look at the screenshots you'll see a text I sent myself to show it working. But I started v2 from scratch. No service on my motion to mess around with it to get it working again. It was simple the first time.

at first i couldn't figure out how to use livewallpapers or other images as wallpaper, but i figured out if you install another launcher you can set wallpapers then go back to miui home and it will be there. i'm using solo launcher which is actually an excellent launcher with many themes. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=home.solo.launcher.free

Yeah it's a problem with the launcher. You can change your wallpaper in the settings.
Settings>Display>Wallpaper

It actually can be fixed pretty easily. The fastest way to fix it it replace a file in the classes.dex of the framework jar.
Desktop>Miui>Jar>Port>decompiled>classout>com>android>internal>telephony>cdma>sms>BearerData.smali
You can just replace that file with one from another miui running the same version or I think you can take it from the base rom. (Pg's cm10)
But that's the lazy way and causes problems and you have to do a lot to workaround it. I forget how I fixed it the first time. But I'm trying my best to remember. Once I figure it out again. I'll post a flashable framework.jar for anyone willing to give it a try. I warn anyone to back up your modem first.

Also for me this rom is very stable and there are little to no issues. Keep up the good work.

Its a mixture. The status bar is from another theme. Here's the mix info. Hope it helps.
I'll be working on this again this weekend also will be updating the other ports. Need to climb mountains of school work before anything else >-<

I installed this ROM today and like it a lot; it's got a slick look, and some features I haven't seen before, like the memory clearing/recent apps view that appears with long-press on the Home button. Great job on that! Performance seems fine. I cannot seem to boot into recovery no matter what I do... though I didn't even try until after I had mistakenly installed lte2recovery and hit the 'morningcall' issue... but that is avoided by rebooting without pressing any keys... After uninstalling lte2recovery, I still can't boot into recoveyr, but wonder if I stepped on something by installing lte2recovery... I'm going to do a full reset and install the ROM fresh, and then try to reboot into recovery and will report back on what happens...
The other issues:
First, it says my SIM is missing, which it isn't, and the homescreen shows "Sprint" as the carrier, but of course I have MetroPCS. In Settings>About Phone it says "disconnected" under "Mobile Network State", which isn't true either.
Also, I'm getting crashes in System Settings, and Launcher Settings, fairly often.
Just remembered another issue... every now and then the Status Bar will say "No Service" and if I try to place a call it says, "first turn off Airplane mode"... but when I go to Toggles, Airplane mode is deselected... That issues self-correct, or if I quickly turn Wifi off and on, the Status Bar reports happily that I'm back on the "Sprint" network ...
Other than that, I can receive messages, but can't seem to send any. Haven't tried anything to fix it, because if the ROM really isn't ready for full time use, I'll be switching back to Collab 3.01... but overall very good impressions, will be keeping an eye on this and happy to test any new builds!

um yea don't use lterecovery.apk on anything but stock based roms. but of course yu found that out already

i got this to work as a baseless port so i could run it on a different base rom but there's no status bar. can't figure out what i'm missing. arrggghh!!

I seriously recommend that phone! I mean for the specs for the price of 99? Really worth it. It has it's buggy moments but they're tolerable.
