Root Wireless Tethering Control

S.W.A.G

Lurker
Is there anyway to control a phone / device with wifi who is connected to your tether. Maybe something like vnc viewer or remote desktop. I am trying to mess with some kids at my high school... Thanks!

There is a wireshark app (called Shark for Root I think) that will allow you capture a pcap file, which has their traffic. So if they are using insecure sites (with no HTTPS) you will get anything they submit in clear text.

Now, this is probably technically illegal (depending on where you live...) and is provided for information purposes only ;)

But still... might be fun to try out.

And I haven't check out extensions and plug ins for the browsers, but if something like firesheep exists for mobile devices that would be pretty cool, and would help out messing with your class mates (again, might be illegal)

Spit balls is probably the safest way to go though...

LOL i was trying to discourage hacking other peoples phones but i was undermined, shit even a mod jumped in, doesnt seem in the spirit of android forums but whatever.

not underminded, but well ... expanded on..? ;)
You took the ethical high road =P

That is fair enough and it was good that the thread was reported so we could come and take a look.

Having looked at the thread, the OP is not asking for tools to break-in to a system, they are asking for an app to remote control another system (phone/desktop computer) using VNC or MS Remote desktop, both of which require approval on the remote system to allow the user to take control. Therefore it's not illegal and ok to be discussed.

Thanks for the clarification blue nova, though in fairness the system he is asking to control is not one of his own :D

MS Remote and VNC dont really let him mess with his friends seeing as they would have to approve him doing it. Your answer is clearly within guideline obviously but someone may pop in with the answer he wants was my worry. When he asked if there was remote desktop I dont think he actually knew what he was asking for as that wont let him achieve his goal lol.

Thanks though. i appreciate the moderators looking in and always keeping an eye out for our amazing forum :), good day
