Words you find irritating

The word "whilst" unless it's being used in Old English. It's just ridiculous that anyone today would use such an ancient word in everyday conversation. Makes me want to toss in a thee or a thou just for good measure.

Anyways..... That word is never plural. I also hate to see people type alot when the correct way is a lot. It makes me wonder if these people even went to high school. On the subject of texting, I hate things like, will I c u 2morrow or l8r? It makes me want to punch them in the throat.

Would like to add this to mine. I used to work in a call center. We had to enter notes in a call so the next call taker would, hopefully, have some idea what was going on. There was one lady who would always use "wut" instead of what. Drove me bat-crazy. "Caller asked wut was going on............" Made me want to scream every time I saw it.

Since you mentioned call centers, I used to work at some pretty bad ones and it drove me insane to hear people use the word "notate", "Let me notate your account". I know that it's technically a word, but it's no different than saying "note", "Let me note your account".

Bruh.. Bro, I don't mind. But Bruh is annoying. I have to hear it all day at school.

Example: Bruh! Did you see the game bruh!? Bruh I know bruh! Man, I can't believe it bruh!

Yes^^ that is how they talk in my school all day.

Its quite tiring to make the complete sound of an 'o'. Much easier to meet it halfway :D

You forgot an exclamation point at the end ;)

Anyways (<see what I did there?) Anyone know what it means to be called 'big pimpin'? I'm not sure what a 'big pimpin' is......

LOL..Think big pimpin is flashy(lots of $,cars,ect.)
Extravagant

I thought of another phrase that irritates me ...

"License and registration", especially when spoken by someone dressed like Smokey the Bear.

Glad I haven't heard that one in a few years (and the last time I did my radar jammer worked )

big pimpin - phrase that describes a heterosexual man's ability to maintain relationships with multiple simultaneous girlfriends; such relationships are sexual in nature"

I think that replaced "dude".

I love Roman numerals. I think they look cool. Seeing MCMLXXXVIII just looks cooler than 1988. I also like seeing them on clock faces.

Yeh I love Roman numerals as well. Agreed about clock faces and years, just looks so much better. Certainly much more appealing than that Arabic number system, it's just so common and barbarian.

I meant "know"....

A phrase that irks me, but my daughter uses all the time....know what I mean????

dat, bro, nun, k, fo....I have so many I cant even make a list.

All you have to do is go to the teenager forums and you will get the urge to blow your brains out or at least bash it against the wall until you are blind.

And you know what the bigger problem is here?
English isn't even my native language and the native speakers are worse at it than me!!!

In the UK we have these young, lower class people generally referred to as 'chavs' & they say some odd things. The worst phrase being "swear down". What this means I have no idea. Does it mean cuss the pavement? Are they inviting me to a swearing match? Does it mean "please put your invisible swear words in the invisible swearing amnesty box"?

Actually it might mean "swear at me & I shall respond!". NSFW swear down (0.34)

(this is funny because this chap is actually just acting, lol, but illustrates the UK chav perfectly!)

"Mate" used as "brah", "bro", "buddy", etc in other countries. It just sounds kind of odd when someone calls me "mate". My typical response is "I'm not going to MATE with you!", unless it's a hot girl and I'd probably say "How you doin?!?!"

Not a word...but a phrase....

"Like totally!"

Makes me feel like bashing the person's head in, and I am not a violent person.
