X for Fascinate..... Don't be stupid!

I think it's been relatively established that the SF does have inferior reception to the X. However, the SF is still above most phones available, but the X remains king in the reception department.. especially in areas that have extremely poor Verizon service.

That's awesome!!! Seriously, if I can be honest about this without ruffling any feathers, my sincerest hope is that the Windows 7 mobile OS is a huge success, that it eats into Androids market share, and that the good points about the platform such as these are directly traced back to the reason it is so successful. And I say that not because I wish any ill will towards Android, but because I honestly believe this is the only thing that will shake the tree over there at Google and make them realize they need to get tougher on the OEM 's. That is the only area that I feel they are really dropping the ball. And competition drives companies to come out with improved products. So if they see that they are loosing market share due to people not liking that they are stuck with all the bloatware on their devices and will spend their money on an OS that, while it may not be superior over all to the Android platform, at least has a friendlier UI, and trumps it in customizing potential.

If we can wake Google up and get them in a war with Windows over who has the most wide open device on the market.... WE WIN!!! :D
Sorry to say, but don't get your hopes up. While WinMo7 dictates that the "square" must be user customizable, that doesn't mean that the software itself must be removed.

Analogous to how CityID may come as a pre-installed icon that you can remove, but that doesn't delete the software from still running in the background.

In the end, manufacturers and carriers are being paid money to "advertise" products. Would you buy a billboard, only to know that anyone could come along and remove it? Sad fact, but HTC will start locking thier phones down as well. I hope this trend reverses, but don't see it happening anytime soon.

Well, I just took my SF back today because of the poor call quality and the fact that my screen took a sh*t in the 6 days I've owned it. I loved the phone, really I did. But the sales reps talked me into getting the X over another fascinate. So far the call quality is far superior, but the UI and the screen, along with the camera are better on the SF IMO.

The Droid X should come with a big warning sticker on the side saying "Caution: Contents Highly Addictive."

I never knew I could have so much fun with a phone.

How does the X's camera suck? My girlfriend has an X and that thing takes amazing pictures.
i know for one it sucks ass at taking pics after like 6pm. even night mode doesnt really seem to help that much. but i guess no phone out right now is much better at shooting night pics so whatever

So i was one of those guys that had an upgrade and was like ohhh sweet screen on the fascinate, i bought it and a week later i want to destroy it. Definitely taking it back and sticking with motorola and the droids. Most likely the droid x :)

I have the DX my Wife has the SF.

Her 720p videos have 5.1 sound and they look a little better.
SF, I don't see any programs running on the background by itself unless she opens the app my DX I have a lot of programs running and never even click on them so no reason to be open.

Both phones are really good. DX is more for guys and SF is more for girls not saying guys can't have it but it looks better on the girls =)

I want to see how her SF running after doing the FROYO and then we can compare more about the phones.

I wonder out of all the galaxy S phones, is it the fascinate that makes men think it is a woman's phone
or the galaxy s and every remake lol

All those girls just took advantage of the free Fascinate deals at Best Buy on Fridays to save $200 that they then spent on Starbucks and a new dress ;):p Those silly girls, so economical.

The pie chart I saw in the USA Today showed that 70% of Fascinate owners were women, 25% were gay men, and the other 5% were midgets.

So if you own a Fascinate and you're not a woman, you'd better hope your a midget!

;)

I think the primary reason why the Fascinate is for women is because of its form factor vs. the Droid X. The X just is too big for most women and their dainty hands. At the same time, the 2 times I was in a Verizon store, it was 2 different lady sales rep that tried to push the Fascinate on me. I'm always an informed buyer and don't rely on sales reps, but many girls who just want a phone for their calling and texting will more likely listen to the sales rep.

This is all so true. I talked to a rep the other day that was in by a client of mine who handles the business accounts, and he was telling me that they are easiest to sell to females for form factor and such. Quiet amusing, and lets be real here, the Samsung is a iPhone in a lot of ways with the bad atenna issue. Welcome to the iPhone of Verizon LOL.

Anyway, I'm happy with my DX =) Great phone, great reception, and great replacement to my Storm 2.

Yep, that phone screams, "I'm Divalicious":p

Love this !

But thankfully, i am not one of those girls who get influenced by what people are trying to sell me!

I mean, i guess i could see where the fascinate is a bit...pretty compared to the Droid X

I personally think the fascinate and the vibrant are the best looking of all the galaxy s devices ...

It is always funny when guys come up to me(be it random guys in starbucks or guys on campus) and are shocked when i have the latest droid...and actually know a lot more about it compared to most girls who just are like

"Oh my god, it takes pictures and lets me facebook and twitter"
lol

What, don't tell me this never occured to you... sounds like you still have a thing or two to learn about the male species and the way they operate eh? Lol ;)
