X for Fascinate..... Don't be stupid!

All those girls just took advantage of the free Fascinate deals at Best Buy on Fridays to save $200 that they then spent on Starbucks and a new dress ;):p Those silly girls, so economical.

I bought leather pants and bullets. To each there own. Also, being a bit economical isn't really a bad thing, especially with the way the economy is these days.

Yep, that phone screams, "I'm Divalicious":p

That ringtone didn't come on my phone. :(

I think the primary reason why the Fascinate is for women is because of its form factor vs. the Droid X. The X just is too big for most women and their dainty hands. At the same time, the 2 times I was in a Verizon store, it was 2 different lady sales rep that tried to push the Fascinate on me. I'm always an informed buyer and don't rely on sales reps, but many girls who just want a phone for their calling and texting will more likely listen to the sales rep.

If you go to a high end car dealership you will also have attractive women trying to sell you cars too. That wouldn't make a Mercedes any more of a man's or woman's car than a Lexus, now would it? Sales reps push what they are told to push or what gets them the most commission. Some even try to offer the best device for you , I know it's a shock.

@All

If your phone works for you then that is great. If it doesn't then I'm sorry and I hope you find one that does. Trying to argue one phone is better than the other or which is male or female is just rather silly. You get the phone that works for you and what you do. If you bought a phone to make you more manly or feminine then you probably just wasted your money.

It is always funny when guys come up to me(be it random guys in starbucks or guys on campus) and are shocked when i have the latest droid

If they are guys that don't know you, what a weak approach to strike attention :o

You realize we're all making sarcastic jabs, right OfTheDamned? :o

I'm a beamer person myself, so :p

I just played with the Droid X in person, not at a store where the phone is tied down.

I have the Fascinate (love it without a case, it's so thin, but I have the kickstand case on it now) but I LOVED the Droid X.

It feels so solid and the fact that it has three mics and the GPS works and the extended battery does not stick out much, plus it adds a lot to the battery life...well, if I was within my 30 days (for the Fascinate) I'd trade it in to TRY the X.

I'm tired of the lag, GPS issues, and weak battery life (10-12 hours tops) of my Fascinate, but I HATED the screen of the X by comparison; it's just so DULL.

I wouldn't call an android phone with 10 to 12 hours of battery life weak. Most get about that with an X. Extended battery would extend that some. I agree with the 3 mics. You don't think it would make that big of a difference, but in watching the playback and comparing phones, The X really shines. Solid build, great phone! Its my fav!

10-12 hrs is with light use. I'm getting about 8 right now with moderate use.

I companies should do a much better job of QA testing phones (Samsung, Apple, Moto)...too many phones with issues.

How does Samsung NOT ask itself, "What WE be ok with this battery life?"

I really hope a software update improves it...

And they are MORONS for the file system they went with. I have horrible lag.

I am reading reports of people getting 24-30 hours with an Extended battery on the X. If that's true, that's amazing.

I could see me getting that. I ususally get 16 to 18 on a full charge. Thats unplugging at 630am and not plugging back in untill usually 1230 or 1am. And thats usually with 20 or so percent remaining.

I'm getting 20 to 24 hours easy on my X with the extended battery and I live on this thing! 10 to 12 hours is terrible! I got 15 to 18 hours with the regular battery.

Whats the confusion? This was a moderate day for me. 50% battery remaining.

And I never alter any settings or brightness.

wow looks like everyone is getting way better battery life than i am, but it probably doesn't help that I am on the thing 8 hours while at work.

My phone has been uplugged for 16 hours now and I still have 40% left. But when I am at work and using it like a crazy person then yes my battery drains, but I don't even have a problem with it. Point being 10 to 12 hours is NOT bad, I couldn't even get that on my first moto droid and for the X to average that is great.

Right, thats what I was saying. 10-12 would be considered normal range for me. 6-8 would be bad. Below that would be unacceptable. I consider anything over 12 hours to be outstanding!

It's all relative to what light/moderate/heavy usage is defined as from person to person. With that said, the X DOES have better battery life compared to any other high-end Android device, including the Fascinate.

When I watch videos and play Angry Birds on my X.. I don't think my screen as looking dull  I actually see it as having natural colors I'm use to seeing with watching movies at home, not oversaturated color tones.

Probably the biggest reason I like the X is due to it's battery life. I came from a sprint diamond and I could make it thru the day with that phone... if I didn't use it. If I made a phone call for more than a half hour, the battery was dead. If I used the GPS I'd maybe get a half hour before the battery was dead.

I can't believe how much much more efficient the radios are in the X. I can talk for hours, surf the web, have push email on all the time. It's nice to just be able to use the phone.

I typically get 19 to 24 hours with moderate use on my Fascinate. If I use it heavily I get around 15 to 19 hours. I'm sure if I was a light user I could get two days easy.

Considering switching to the Droid X from the Fascinate. I actually picked the Fascinate because of the form factor. I had a Droid X when they first came out, loved the phone, but never quite got used to the size. So the Fascinate is the perfect size (yes, I'm a girl, not so dainty hands, but how big do your hands have to be for the X to be comfortable?), but I'm having so many issues with it: GPS, no LED notification light, no trackball, trackpad, or text editing assistance, I have to pull the battery to turn off the camera, LAG - LAG - LAG, I can't use LauncherPro on it because then it lags even more (I can't believe I'm complaining about lag on the Fascinate after owning an Eris - it's not that bad) and battery life is very bad. If I leave it unplugged over night, with no apps running, fully charged up at 11pm, it's dead by 6am.

The screen on the Fascinate is very pretty, and the device is perfectly sized. It fits great it my hand (though I can't reach the whole screen without moving my hand around, so I'm not sure it's better than the X in that regard). Not sure whether form should supercede function. Both phones make calls just fine for me. And I actually had more trouble holding onto a wifi connection with the X than I do with the Fascinate. I realize I'm on the X forum page, but looking for something to make me pull the trigger and return this Fascinate in favor of the X - even knowing that I'm going to hate how it feels in my hand though love the function... Indecisive. I'm a girl.

Go back to the X. My girlfriend has the X. She has very small hands and she has no problems with the X. She loves it. When she first got it, I asked her if she found it comfortable in her hands and she said "Yes, it feels great. The only problem is fitting it in the small pockets of my purse because I don't want to leave it where my keys are cause they will get all scratched up."

I had the Fascinate and I had the same problems you are talking about. Reception and call quality on that thing is abysmal. The GPS barely ever works. Noise cancellation is horrid. If I was walking to class, there is no way I would be able to talk to anyone on the phone because they would be complaining they could hear me because of cars passing by or wind.

When I got my phone it did seem a bit large... mostly due to not being able to reach the notification bar one handed. That was about the only time the size bothered me.

If that's an issue for you as well you can use launcher pro and map a swipe up action on one of the dock icons to pull the notifications screen down (I use a swipe up action on the app drawer to pull down the notificition screen down).
