X getting official Froyo before Inc?

Droid X Screen is much better, its like the difference between a glow stick making kids go "ooooo....aaaa" and the true colors of a flower that will make a discerning photographer appreciate it. Anyways, I believe 2.2 will hit around the same time the Droid 2 is release, as that is supposed to have froyo pre-loaded. So late august.
 
Well being that the Droid 2 is supposed to release with 2.2 and has the same Blur widgets or rumored to and it comes out next month. I think the X will get it around that time. Probably after the release of the Droid 2 so they can advertise it as the first phone released with 2.2
 
Would it be logical to conclude that, since Froyo is more streamlined and has increased performance, we can expect increased battery life once our X's are running it?

With the X that's not a big deal as you have 8gb of internal memory now for apps.
 
I would think that X would get 2.2 before the Incredible because of what someone else mentioned. It appears the Droid 2 is releasing with it, so it wouldn't be hard for them to release it to the X next, we don't even know if HTC has it finished yet.

Glad you asked. Just yesterday alone, I had to take the battery out 5 times to do a hard reboot to get the phone to "unfreeze". Had to remove Launcherpro and aTAKEphONE apps for it to quit stuttering and lagging enough to even use it. Started the day yesterday with a full overnight charge, battery died at 2:30 PM.

Now, admittedly, while I don't play with the phone, do gaming or surf the web much on the phone, I am a heavy, heavy user for business. Lots of phone calls, emails, texts and such. Exchange Server email, calendar, contacts and tasks. Here's the bottom line. I had more problems with the DroidX yesterday that I had with the old iPhone3 in well over a year.

The standard apps and blur interface suck in a huge way. Way, way too many clicks to get to what you want to do. Unfortunately, when I try to load some apps/widgets to streamline some of these things, they cause the damn phone to stutter, delay and freeze.

Do you think I'm making this crap up just to troll here? Think what you want. I want this thing to work well so bad you can't possibly imagine. I loved the iPhone but AT&T sucks even worse than the DroidX. The cell phone is such an important part of my tool kit that I need it to work well and efficiently. So I gained a much better network but probably have a net loss because the DroidX sucks so bad. Sorry I'm frustrated. Perhaps if I used it like a toy and drank enough of the koolaid, I would think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread. I know it's not pal because I'm living it.

And yes, I called Verizon to get help. Request a new phone. After a 15 minute wait to get someone, I get shuffled around and finally get told to pull the battery. WOW! Thank you so freaking much for that earth shattering support. It appears the only thing that will work with those morons is to take the DroidX back, get an iPhone4 and deal with the AT&T network. I am seriously considering buying a dumb phone from Verizon to talk on and getting a real productivity tool that actually works, the iPhone4, for my mobile productivity device.

Good luck with that. The IPhone 4 is not reliable at all. Sent mine back and much happier with the X. You would do better to get a 3gs over the 4.
 
Neither is getting it before the end of July.

The Droid 2 will be the first device launched with it, with other devices getting upgraded shortly after that.

So I would look at the end of August/early September for the X and Incredible to get 2.2.

I agree that article seems more reliable. I also think it's odd that you would mention that you are sensing some "we're better than you" sentiment and then end your post telling us actually "you're better than us" at least according to the well respected CNET.

So in the spirit of Hi Pot, I'm Kettle let me point out in the tech world AnandTech is clearly "better" than CNET and AnandTech states "the Droid X takes our pick for the best Android phone on the market today". :D:p;)

Just trying to remind everyone that both phones are amazing, and belittling the DrInc is ridiculous. AnandTech is great at rating and testing hardware, CNET is great at reviewing all forms of electronic devices, I'd say it's a wash unless you're an OEM looking for 3rd party technical data. Also, phones are much more than their hardware. The overall experience is the main objective and my overall experience has been a great one. Last thing, AnandTech said "If you're on Verizon and prefer the larger screen, the Droid X takes our pick for the best Android phone on the market today." That is still pretty awesome.:D:p;):):rolleyes::cool::eek:

Let me get this straight...you don't play with the phone, do gaming or surf the web. So why the hell did you get a Droid X??? An even better question, why hell did you get an iphone before that??? If you're a HEAVY business user, you should have gotten blackberry on Verizon. Their OS is stale, but it does everything you want REALLY WELL. There's a reason why most businesses uses blackberries and not other smartphones. They are great for calls, emails and txts. They just suck at everything else.

As long as Froyo comes as originally stated, I'm perfectly fine. Any time in August is fine with me.

Then take back the Droid X, if you even have one, and go get an iPhone. ALthough I'm afraid you might start making love to it, considering every post of yours I've seen, you've dogged the X and gushed over the iPhone like it was a curvy blonde.

Have fun with iPhone with a band-aid. Maybe you can name it Nelly?
