xScope, a multitouch pinch zoom browser

Love the new icon!!! I still can't figure out how to change the names in favorites. I have a few favorites listed as "n/a"

Yes the icon looks really good. Super job, but ii haven't gotten it to change in my applications? I see it when asking which default browser to choose but my icon in the applications and on my home screen is still the magnifying glass. Help is appreciated. Thanks.

I had the same problem with the icon (I previously assigned a different icon in PandaHome). I uninstalled and reinstalled xScope and all is well.

Well I tried uninstalling and then re-installing. That didn't work for me. All that did was reinstall xScope and in the process clear out my favorites. On top of that I still have that magnifying glass! Any other suggestions? Thanks

turnerw,
I have no clue.
I was browsing the market and found ALL comments about paid version gone! Does this happen only to me? What can you see? Thanks

xscope: want to purchase. if i unistall, then re install the paid version, will i lose all my settings? or do you have a paypall act?

Yes I see the paid Version as well. If anyone finds a away for me to get the new icon showing let me know. Uninstalling/re-installing did not work.

My problems on Droid

1. Sometimes you do not see the web page until it is completely finished loading (should load text first then pictures).
2. Pinch zoom still not smooth and fast enough.
3. Fit to page text realignment is a bit jerky.
4. Too easy to open a link in new tab when you don't mean to. Needs option to have a pop up which asks if you want to poen link in new tab or option to make the time the link is pressed longer.
5. Home screen text way too small
6. Slow scrolling on graphically intensive pages (this is a problem with other browsers too).
7. Fit to page does not recognize indented text. If there is a block of text with indented text below it (like a block quote), the block quote will not fit to age and will run over on the right side fo the screen.

1, 3, 6 are beyond my control.
I can surely improve 2, 4, and 5 as it evolves.
7, I will test this to see what's causing it.

Thanks gwlaw!

Nooooooooooo on the pop-up. Being able to easily open in a new tab is a must.

I get used to 'long press --> new tab' without popup too. It is so efficient to browse a list of links (it don't work on Google News though because the links are javascript commands and I don't think the webkit can catch them).
But I will think about it if it is possible to make it as a user option in settings somewhere.

hi! i think this app is an incredibly good mobile browser.

i, too, am looking forward to it working with sites that require a gps fix.

since the tab size is very small, i was wondering if there was a way to allow the trackball to scroll among open tabs to select? currently, the trackball only scrolls through items on the page and the address bar.

thanks!

Another happy paying customer here. I really love this browser.

Here are a few improvements that i'd love to see (some have been mentioned already, but i wanted to get my feedback to the dev):

1) Ability to hide the address bar up top
2) when clicking on a youtube link, have it give me the option to launch the youtube app
3) this one may not be allowable from what i understand: lock the vertical scrolling when attempting to scroll straight up or down. I think apple may have a patent on this- but it is a great feature.
4) I can't log on to xmarks.com. I can enter my username, but it acts as if i'm not even entering my password as i type it (i've tried with the virtual and physical keyboard from my Droid).

Thanks- and keep up the great work!

xScope, the default browser, and Dolphin all use WebView as base class. Basically the program will just issue an command like navigate to xxxx.com then the WebView takes control of how to display and other tasks. Unless I missed something here.

The difference, IMHO, among different browsers, is how the app handles states. For one thing, xScope bypasses some unnecessary database queries (performance hit there).

Thanks for the reply. One question. Why is one such a problem? Other browsers do this.

GPS: I am sure it is just one little trick but I just could't get it right yet. Any developer here? please help.
The trackball and D-pad, I will look into them and try to have a fix. Thanks
