I dont know if anybody know's or posted this yet but I havent seen is so I posted it. Get ROM Manager from Market and it will let you flash ClockworkMod, below is a screenshot of my phone's ROM. And custom theme =D

And here you can see that the LG Ally is supported completely by ROM Manager.

There is another thread about this but it just makes the process of installing roms and doing recoveries a little easier.

As of right now the clockworkmod recovery:
* Has a better navigation system for the ally (dont have to use the slide out)
* Allows for flashing roms from anywhere of SDCARD
* DOESNT have options to partition SDCARD

The benefits are limited until it is updated.

There is... you just select restore backup. Then select your backup you made before flashing a rom.
done tried it and it was a no go. I have removed rom manager and booted into CW recovery and tried to install the stock recovery zip and it still won't get rid of CW:confused:

To go back to stock find the signed_ally_v8_stock.zip (rom) and install from the recovery menu. (remember to Wipe Data and erase data+cache, and dalviks cache) You don't want a boot loop or brick on the stock rom and stock recovery.

been there done that, and it still don't allow me to get rid of CW. All i want to do is get the v8 update, and CW is blocking me from getting it:(

So, anyone know how to get rid of clockwork recovery? Ive removed the app and wiped all the caches and it still won't get rid of it after loading the signed v8 rom:confused:

can you get the V8 update with that recovery? and if so how did you install it?

Well i never re-flashed back to v6. I originally had v6(when only rooting was the only option at the time.) Once i got the OTA update for v8 i've always used that. I've never been able to flash to stock recovery (i assume that happens when you downgrade to v6. Can someone confirm that?) But an alternative to get rid of clockword recovery is to flash drellisdee's one.
