Root You can now unroot revolutionary

ahh yes. i forgot about that. thanx xtreme.

Still trying to find a work around for it. This is part of the issue I came up with when trying to get a guide together to unroot with a broken screen like for unrevoked. If they get a flashable zip for s-on then it could still be done the same way as before just with the RUU run from the PC.

yeah i forgot about the hboot issue. hopefully, a s-on tool will come out at sometime so it can be flashed.

Android Flasher runs the fastboot commands for you. I was able to initially flash my modded 6.17 HBOOT using it (I was on 2.16), so I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Though perhaps you do still have to answer the on-screen prompts. I'll have to check and see.

I will take a look at it and see if it will do what is needed to flash in hboot without the buttons.

I get loading.... [PC36IMG.zip]
Checking... [PC36IMG.zip]

Then it goes back to the normal HBoot screen and nothing happens. No option to update

something is not right then. you need to make sure that it is named correctly. it needs to be PC36IMG with no extra zip at the end. it also needs to be on the root of the sd card. it cant be in any folders, just on the card.

It went through its scan, foudn it and loaded it so it must have been named right. And it was on the root of the SD card.

I finally got unrooted through the RUU exe also found in the dummies guide. Now I just need to get it looked at to solve this car mode issue.

Just letting everyone know this
I rooted when it was 1st advailable to us gingerbread guys worked perf.
3 days ago i decieded to go back to s on stock rom (I khow some are thinking why I guess just because i can LOL)
Today I rerooted again no problems except the copy and past for the key as before. Im rooted again!! So if anyone was wondering I was able to root after unrooting.

i used the s -on tool to restore my phone, was going to sell...didnt happen.tried to use the revolutionary tool again, and it saysi have s-off..but i dont, and it aborts
any ideas would be great...PEACE

looks like the few people who are having issues are putting it in the root folder named PC36IMG.ZIP it needs to be named 'PC36IMG' no zip in the root of the sd

Ok, my USB port is screwed up and I'm trying to get the phone back to stock. I rooted with Revolutionary. Getting S-ON worked great - it asked if I wanted to update and it did. However, when applying the stock ROM, it finds the file, spends a minute or so loading it, and then just goes back to the bootloader screen. Am I missing something here? I've verified that the file name is correct, and it's not named .zip.zip - I always run windows with extension hiding off, so I see exactly what is on the card.

I guess I'm expecting the phone to go back to "out of the box" state, is that correct? I rooted my phone as I was constantly running out of room for apps so I deleted some bloatware (Nascar, etc) and after applying the S-ON patch, it appears that I have S-ON, (that's what's at the top of the bootloader screen) but the second file won't do anything.

I guess since I have S-ON I can technically take it back to Sprint unrooted, but I'm sure somewhere down the line someone will notice that the bloatware is gone. If I do a "reset to factory" from recovery will it re-initalize the phone with everything that would have come out of the box?

Many thanks for any help!

Bootloader screen reads:

SUPERSONIC EVT2-3 SHIP S-ON
HBOOT is 6.17.0001
MICROP-041f
TOUCH PANEL-ATMEL224_16ab
RADIO-2.15.00.0808
Mar 8 2011, 17:02:15

So, I'm assuming my bootloader is 6.17.0001

ok so yes your hboot is 6.17 so lets try a ruu that you run on your computer then download this file:
[ROM]RUU_SuperSonic_GB_Sprint_WWE_4.53.651.1_Radio_2.15 .00.0808_NV_2.15_release_exe
run this file on your computer and plug in your phone when it tells you to. also make sure that the phone has usb debugging on.

thanks trying this now... *waiting for download* i rooted my phone yesterday night s-off and when i when to flash my rom i notice it said s-on. My guess is that i forgot to delete the pc36img file from my sd card *phone got replaced* and it put s back on. Ooops...

I tried to do revolutionary but it says my phone is s-off which on my hoot screen is says on... anyway im hoping with this i can unroot it completely so i can root it again...

If you think there is an easier fix please let me know... cant seem to be able to think of anything else
