Ok so I have this friend (....no, I'm not this 'friend', this isn't one of THOSE stories) who works for Delta airlines, he and his wife found out they could get 4 smartphones on a plan with Sprint for $160 dollars per month (he gets a discount through Delta). So his wife called Verizon to cancel their service and as soon as she said 'Cancel' on the automated service, she was immediately transfered to an operator.
When the operator asked why she was cancelling their service she said they could get a better deal with another carrier. The operator then offered them $9.99 unlimited data plans on all 4 of the smartphones in their house FOR LIFE!!! Now the most interesting part of this deal is that my buddy was looking at getting the Bionic in April (or whenever it's coming out), so if he gets to keep this on a 4G phone, then this is BIG!
So now I'm getting ready to do the same thing. I hope it works for me, I'd hate to actually cancel my service! Lol, I know that some of the peeps on this forum work for Verizon, do any of you know about this offer? Is it easy to get, or is it just something they offer long time Verizon customers who call in to cancel? Should I call and say I want to cancel? Or call and say I was thinking of going with another carrier, unless you have an offer that would change my mind?
I've been with Verizon for about 5 or 6 years now with 3 smartphones on my plan, so I'd think I'd be one of the ones they would offer this to. Wish me luck!

Here is the post about the plan they gave your friends. The promotion was offered to a select group of people thru an email promotion but others that have called in have been able to get the offer. The first time I called back in November they checked to see if I got the email and since it was not sent to me the refused the offer. However I called a couple of nights ago to complain that others that didnt get the email were recieving this offer and they finally caved in a gave it to me. She did mention that this promo is ending at the end of January so call while you can.

Just an FYI, they dont actually change the plan they credit you $20 per line on the account. You must have the $29.99 unlimited plan on each line to get this deal.
