You're gonna wanna read this!!! How you can get unlimited data for $10

Is it only available in certain areas of the country?

Only one office can actually offer it, that's why you need to say "cancel service" after dialing 611, it will transfer you to the office in NC. I'm in NY and it worked for me.

I tried the same thing and the person that I talked to was a rock - no budging. She really did not have any advice other than to lower my data plan down to the capped one from the unlimited, even though she admitted that all off the lines (3) when well over the data usage of the capped plan every month (lowest was 450MB). I mentioned that I have co-workers with other carriers that have $9.99 unlimited data plans and all I got was how other carriers don't offer premium service like Verizon does and how they have fewer interruptions to service. I even brought up that I had done some research on different promos from Verizon and mentioned the $19.99 plan in the OP and she said that she had never heard of it. Go figure.

Looks like I will have to try back tonight and hope that I get another kinder CSR.

Did you dial 611? I called my parents last night and my mother called and told them that her son just got offered unlimited data for $9.99/ month and asked what she had to do to get the same deal. They set her right up.
 
Just chiming in that I got this. I called *611 and did the cancel service bit. The first rep I talked shut me down, but I called again and got someone else who set me right up as soon as I mentioned that I'd heard about a $9.99 unlimited data plan.

I'm on a plan with two cell phones - we ended up getting 700 more minutes, unlimited texts (up from 500), family and friends numbers, and are paying about $20 LESS than we were before. Thank you!
 
This looks like it would cost me about the same, but I would end up with 1400 anytime minutes instead of 700. I only have two lines on my family share plan. I pay $141.00 with tax and BS every month for two smartphones with unlimited data.
I would not mind having the extra minutes, but with GV, friends and family, and the fact that most people I call have Verizon, I rarely use more than 500.

This promo doesn't look like it includes my circle. I have a 1400 minute family plan and we only use about 500 minutes but we use about 1500-2000 my circle minutes, so I think this wouldn't help me.
 
I just called and the knew I called in November and still shut me down even with the threat of moving to Sprint because the rest of my family is on that (this worked to move my NE2 up so I thought I would try it again!). She pointed out that I already have a 17% discount on my plan and I think like 20% on my data and that was very generous of Verizon apparently and so she pretty much made it sound like I was being greedy asking for this. I told her that everyone on this forum seemed to be getting it and that was not fair but she didn't seem to care. Totally lame!

Just an FYI, they dont actually change the plan they credit you $20 per line on the account. You must have the $29.99 unlimited plan on each line to get this deal.

Really just re-hashing these threads, BUT its worth it. Call until you find success, even if that means using the "cancel" word.

I was able to get this promotion and the result is ALL of these:
Added a 3rd line
Bill Dropped by ~$40
All 3 Lines have Unlimited Talk/Text/Data

(Previously had 250/500sms packages and only 2 lines)

I haven't been this happy with VZ in a while. My suspicion though is that 4G will change everything. As long as you stay on a 3G phone this will apply but when you finally jump to the 4G phones you'll see 4G pricing. So for life means, for the life of your DX lol. But again, that's just my suspicion, I am hoping I'm wrong though...
 
Okay, I called the number, they wouldn't give it to me..said that promo offer would of been emailed to me if I was eligible. She then asked me if there might be another way I'd like to reduce my bill. I said, You should have a 100 min plan for people like me, cause I never go over that mark on my 450 plan..and lo and behold there is a 100 min plan for oeople like me..sneaky buggers..they just don't promote it...I've been with them for 2 years and had no clue. Its $25, saving me $15 a month..but if I would of known this 2 years ago, I would of saved 360 by now! So I initially thought I could reduce my plan by $10 with this 69.99 promo...didn't get it...but saved $15 a month another way...and this 100 min plan offers 500 late night and wkend min..which is the only time I talk on the phone anyway!! Geez Louise..by the way, the name of the rep that helped me..

I just want to make sure I got it, and that the rep wasn't tired of people asking and just told me I had it.
 
I just did this... was a pain in the ass. They had no idea and I had to tell them "Data Promo" and then they had to figure out how to force this in because it was only select areas.

Although while I was on hold for about 25 minutes I heard the iPhone is coming about 3 times...

But cut my bill from $165 to $125! =)

Be careful that you do this before Sunday. My CSR told me the deal ends this Sunday.

Yeah I agree. I'm sure I'm dreaming when I said I wonder if it will continue on with 4G devices. You're more than likely right, the 'for life' part probably means 3g unlimited data for life, not 4g data.

Sorry to hear they wouldn't give it to you, but I'm happy to hear you did end up saving money anyways. That's always a good thing.

That's kind of shitty. So strange how they treat some customers differently than others. My guess is that perhaps you weren't talking to the right department. I just don't see how a rep can get off the phone helping one person into this package, then tell the next guy he's SOL?
 
I got my $9.99 unlimited data plans on my second try. I had to use the "cancel" word to get it done. Either way i will now save 40 bucks a month n data charges.(2 smartphone lines) Rock n roll!!!!

i never had to use the "cancel" word. i called and the lady i spoke to was super nice and gave it to me no problems back in november.

Well that doesn't make me feel any better. Only thing I can think is that my bill is paid and my billing period doesn't reset til the 10th and that is when she it would be reflected on my bill.. So now I don't know if I should wait or try calling again.. sorry if it sounds like I'm being paranoid I just don't want to miss out on this deal
 
I had to call twice also. The first rep did not budge told me I had to call the number that was on the add. I called back again second rep was very nice and had a totally different attitude she could not do it but connected me to some one that could. If at first you don't succeed try and try again. This should be posted in all forums.
 
You guys are the best!! I just called and got the deal. I did say 'cancel' and was transferred to a really nice woman. The lady was very nice. I'm on a 700 family share plan with 2 droids......she said it would be effective on my next bill. I just saved $40/month, y'all are the best!!!!
 
Just called,i was to late to talk to the special dept I had to talk to, but guy was cool and said he would call me back monday to make sure I get the promo before it runs out....he also said something about extending my contract a year, but since my contact runs out after jan 2012 it won't affect at all...thanks guys
 
So, hubby and I are on a 700 min family plan, just talk, w/ 250 and 500 text plans. I have a droid w/ data and hubby has a dumb phone. Would this work for us? We already have a 20% discount on my line and data, would that go away? I could prob talk hubs into getting a smartphone if we had to add a data plan to his line. Thanks!
 
called today

The first time I called the dumbfuc* guy on the phone said there was no such thing and that he couldn't help

Called again talked to a lady and she was like "I sure can help you with that""I am glad you called cause today is the last day that we have this promo" Than she told me that this was a test promo to compete with Sprint and the reason why they are removing the promo is because it didn't take very well and not a big response to it, I was like are you for real. So she sign us up on the 1400 plan and got the discount on the data and saved like 60 dollars a month. Now I am happy with Verizon. But they should have promoted better.

Oh and it is not for a life time it is for 2 years
So for 2 years both phones have unlimited for 9.99
 
So how many of you that have got the single line deal also got the friends and family.

As far as I can tell I didn't but have seem some people say they got it and some not mention whether they did or not. So I was just curious.
 
Am I the only one who has noticed that there seems to be two different plans being discussed here? One being an unlimited data plan for $10, and another plan (which has been discussed off and on for months) where you basically get a discount on plans that are already offered.
